What does "fair dibs" mean?
I tried googling it but couldn't find a proper answer.
so you think insulting people will give you an answer? just for my statistics of despaired youngsters with no future, what is your mothers income in the strip club when she is cleaining the rest rooms, what was the last school education that you failed, and when did your father leave for buying cigarettes?
It means 'fair enough', or to make it even simpler 'that makes sense'.

You're not British. Stop whining.

OK.
It means 'fair enough', or to make it even simpler 'that makes sense'.
Yeah, that's what I thought but I read somewhere that it's only used after you "put something out there" and get "surprised at the reaction".

Like in the context that you say something shocking, they get shocked and then you say 'fair dibs', because it is fair that they reacted that way..?
Dibs also means pick, like you get your dibs, or if you offer a cigarette to someone you would say 'here, have your dibs'.
AND it also means look, asin 'have a dib at that' whilst pointing at a lass in mini skirt and low cut top.
The possibilities of the english language is endless.
interesting. The only use for dibs here is for calling something first. It's an ice cream brand too.

Yeah, but only the Brits seem to have an endless supply of cool slang.

Yeah but you wouldn't say fair dibs instead of 'me first' or 'ill have one of those', would you?
You would say 'dibs on that', which is what I meant by the cigarette thing.
Over here.. Dibs is equal to bags which means to call for something. Example:
"I bags the top bunk" or "I call dibs on the top bunk"
Fair Dibs = Fair Game
