I have a '97 Rover 400 on my dad's driveway. I've issued a SORN for it and switched over the insurance to my new car. The reason it's not being used is because the head gasket is gone. I'm not too good with cars but I gather it's where oil can leak into the water tank or more commonly, water in the oil tank. It's also overheating everytime I turn it on. I would just scrap the thing but I MOT'd it a month ago so it's still got about 11 months left.
Any ieas of what to do with it besides fixing it up? Fixing it would cost about 400 quid for the head gasket alone, then tax is 100 for 6 months. Can't really spend that kind of money on it. No one will pay 500 quid for it. Would this be a scrapyard job do you think?
