hi. so i'm trying to enter this un-secured network that i am catching, i can log on, but thing is, after i am logged on, the internet doesnt work. now i can gget into the router settings, by typing the ip in the address bar, but i have no idea what to do from there... i can provide some more screenshots if necessary. i really want to get into this network because i've been on it before, and it is super fast compared to my lousy home router

Are you sure you have a DHCP address from the router?
Are you sure you're connected? (24mb/s is low, so you're very poorly if so.)
What happens when you try to ping google?
What happens when you try to ping a root nameserver (4.2.2.1 will work)?
What happens when you portscan google?

yes, i am sure that it is a dhcp on the router, since i have been using that network for over a year, and just recently when i entered the router settings just to havea a look, then i couldn't log back in. i am sure i am connected, i have had moore packets before, and i also have a cantenna, so i can get better signal and have had better signal but still, internet does not work, only when i go on my home network. internet is not detected when i log on, don't know how to ping and do all that stuff though

connect to the AP that you want to use. then disable your home ethernet or your home wireless connection or any other connection you are already connected to. it should work after that, and if you need to use your home connection or anything other than that reenable it and thats all

what he said. basically just disable your other connection and enable the connection you want to use. and if you want to use your home connection to transfer data or something just re enable the one you disabled after enabling the one you want to use

actually, when i enable the access point, it won't letme access the internet... so i can log on it, and im connected, but the internet won't work

so you're connected to a wifi router that isn't connected to the internet, sounds like a trap to me!

I was thinking this as well. Perhaps the AP you are connecting to is not connected to the internet.

I don't know why I didn't notice this before. Thing is, you are offering to pay someone to help you crack a wireless router. As far as I'm concerned, this thread is no go anymore. You're more then welcome to post a new topic, though I suggest it be worded differently.
