I've been looking for some more psychedelic books. Books about peoples experiences with hallucinogens etc etc.
If people could recommend me some that'd be awesome
Just stuff along the lines of Doors of Perception and The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test

One of the most interesting articles I ever read on psychedelics was in a political magazine. It was about a house in BC that used to administer LSD; somewhat of an acid hotel.

I'll see if I can find it.

Outside of that, I'll echo reading The Spirit Molecule.

There's one that administers ibogaine now!

William Burroughs' Naked Lunch. Not totally psychedelic, but close enough for me.

Daniel Pinchbeck - Breaking Open the Head. I found it pretty interesting, bit boring in places but worth the read.

Check out some Carlos Castaneda (sp?) if you haven't already. I recommend A Seperate Reality especially although maybe you want to read them in order.

Timothy Leary - The Psychedelic Experience. More of a manual on how to get the most out of a trip.

Also check out Robert Anton Wilson's Schrodingers Cat series. The Universe Next Door is one of my favourite books.

I can't believe no one has recommended fear and loathing in los vegas, its the classic, the original, the greatest drug binge book ever written

Yeah, his writing is classic.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest you read a book called 'Altered States of Consciousness' by Charles Tart. I read it for an anthropology subject a couple of years ago and was completely absorbed by his writing. Not so much a 'psychadelic' book but very intriguing when you begin to think about the mindstate behind psychadelic drugs, ie; why people indulge in them and what it means. Good read.

I assumed he meant non-fiction.

erowid is a shady site, stay far away, used to be the shit back in the day but has since been surpassed by others and been proven to give dangerous/untrue info, be wary.

Got any examples/evidence of this?

In my experience erowid has been very reliable as long you remember that the "experience vault" was written by a bunch of stoners (literally)

The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross:
A Study of the Nature and Origins of Christianity within the Fertility Cults of the Ancient Near East.

John M. Allegro

Not so much what you are looking for, but it seems interesting.

I feel Erowid is a good source of non-biased information. I use it all the time. What sites are you claiming to be better?
