So if one was to use torrents. What programs would they use to protect themselves from things such as the RIAA? I'm looking for something that covers both a home network or maybe something that covers just one pc?
I was thinking peer gaurdian but that doesn't work for windows vista.

You can get riaa blacklists from google... They're known servers that you can then block from connecting to your client all together...

It's really not worth it though, what are you downloading that you can't find for free?

There are blocklists; but it's easy to get around that. It's just an arms race. you should use the blocklist, but don't think they won't find you.

However, you're a needle in a haystack to them, so...

Well, I don't usually download anything I don't already own. Unless its extremely hard to find music.

Doesn't matter, it's still illegal to download it even if you already own it.

As long as you're not running Vista then PeerGuardian (http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/) should suit your needs...
