Im going to mexico pretty soon but Im underage. Im guessing I can buy cigars and booze but how easy would it be to buy pharmaceuticals?
Unbelievably so. You've asked adults to buy you alcohol in the US before, right? It should work the same way. But I'll call Vizier over just to be sure.

Do you need to know how to speak Spanish to get around there? Do many of the locals speak English?

In the resort towns everyone speaks English, but in real Mexico you'll need Spanish.

Depends on where in Mexico you're going. It's easier along the border towns.

Be very careful we and my wife walked over the boarder in Brownsville TX a couple of years ago and the locals suck to deal with.
If you speak Spanish you get along much better.

Boystown thats the place to party in Mexico unless you have a endless supply of greenbacks then all of Mexico can be your playground

You gonna get kidnapped.
Uhhh, that's actually a legitimate concern. I was planning on going to Mexico for spring break (not in a resort). I've been having second thoughts though because of the rumblings down there.
Does anyone else know how it is lately?

I used to live about 10 minutes from the border and go there often so I can tell you from experience that buying pharmaceuticals (along a border town anyway) won't be a problem. Just be sure to know how much stuff costs before you buy it and don't ask how much something is unless you really have to or else you'll get ripped off. Know how many "pesos" equals a dollar etc. Other than that you should be fine although I hear gang violence is up and that there have been shootouts with police. Just stay in a group if you're afraid of getting kidnapped and know that a lot of the policemen can be bribed.

From what I've heard, the policia in mexico don't make much money at all, so they generally make a little extra cash from taking bribes. The best way to suggest a bribe, is to say "Can we solve this matter like gentlemen?"
I suggest you learn how to say that in spanish.
