People familiar with C&R firearms may know about the nagant revolver. It's cheap, typically goes for less than $100 and uses a special cartridge and the cylinder moves forward when the trigger is pulled creating a seal and preventing any gas from escapting. Normally a revolver would not be able to be suppressed but the unique design of this revolver allows it to be. I have seen videos of a custom threaded nagant revolver with a can and it is very quiet but after reading this

I am wondering just how hard would it be to suprress it? Would something as simple as sticking a potato or a makeshift silencer like in the article on the end of the barrel suppress it?

Since it's sealed i'm guessing any kind of suppressor that works on a rifle/pistol of the same caliber would work.
Dunno if the nagants come with threaded barrels, if they don't you would either need to have it threaded or use an attachment like LavaRed uses for his Luger.

Bramit 'device'.
You can have this done:

Or check my Mk.2 Suppressor thread. If you want the specs for my muzzle adaptor coupling, just ask.
Its a neat little piece of engineering that will erase the need to modify your gun.

The only problem with the Nagant revolver is the trigger pull is so atrociously long and heavy you can't hit a damn thing with it.

Well, I used to do some stuff for the KGB and we used heavily modified potatoes with great success.
I'll have to check if it's against OPSEC to tell you the specifics.
