With the economy as it is, there is much worry being spread about. "How will I afford my house?" "Will I lose my job?" "What about my kids' futures?" And so on.
There is a principle of life that has held true from the beginning of our species to this day, and I trust, up until we disappear:
There is plenty to go around.
Everyone can have a house, a car, an education, health care, happy families, friends, hobbies, dreams, goals, purpose, and most importantly, happiness.
There is also another principle of life that has held true from the beginning of TIME:
Everything has a price.
If you want a house, you have to serve people with money in order to get them to share their money with you so you can buy a house. You have to earn it; you are not entitled to shelter.
If you want food, you have to serve people with money and/or food so you can buy/earn food. It must be earned; you are not entitled to eat.
You are entitled to absolutely nothing but death, though there exists an abundance of life all around us. We do not get to partake of it unless we earn it. Life does not give itself to those who will abuse it; those who earn it appreciate it and take care of it. You must put forth the effort; if you do, you will have shelter, food, and transportation. Your children will have opportunity to do the same if you properly care for what is entrusted.
There is nothing to fear unless you are lazy. There is no need to be in want unless you are lazy. If you are lazy, you are fucked whether the economy soars or crashes.

"BIG ROCK CANDY MOUNTAINS"
Performed By Harry McClintock
>From ãO Brother Where Art Thouä Soundtrack CD
One evening as the sun went down, and the jungle fire was burning,
Down the track came a hobo hiking, and he said boys I'm not turning,
I'm headed for a land that's far away, beside the crystal fountain,
So come with me we'll go and see, the big rock candy mountains.
In the big rock candy mountains, there's a land that's fair and bright,
Where the handouts grow on bushes, and you sleep out every night.
Where the boxcars all are empty, and the sun shines every day,
On the birds and bees and the cigarette trees,
the lemonade springs where the bluebird sings,
in the big rock candy mountains.
in the big rock candy mountains, all the cops have wooden legs,
and the bulldogs all have rubber teeth, and the hens lay soft boiled eggs.
The farmers trees are full of fruit, and the barns are full of hay,
Well I'm bound to go where there ain't no snow,
where the rain don't flow and the wind don't blow,
in the big rock candy mountains.
in the big rock candy mountains, you never change your socks,
and the little streams of alcohol, come a tricklin' down the rocks.
The brakemen have to tip their hats, and the railroad bulls are blind,
There's a lake of stew and a whisky too,
you can paddle all around 'em in a big canoe,
in the big rock candy mountains.
In the big rock candy mountains, the jails are made of tin,
And you can walk right out again, as soon as you are in.
There ain't no short handled shovels, no axes, saws, or picks.
I'm a-going to stay where ya sleep all day,
Where they hung the jerk who invented work
In the big rock candy mountains.
I'll see you all this comin' fall in the big rock candy mountains.

Just about everything you state in that paragraph is wrong. Lets start from the beginning. Well your sort of right about scarcity but the fact of the matter is scarcity does exits, however there are certain things which are more scarce than others. things such as gold, land mass, oil, metals, etc are in fact scarce in their usable form. Matter can neither be created nor destroyed, which is true, but it can and is often transformed into another state. This is the dilemma we face which results in scarcity. However, there are certain things which are less scarce than others. For instance, if we wanted to we could give everyone in the World a brand new car because most of the materials for creating a car isn't as scarce as something like oil but because oil is scarce those cars would be rendered useless unless another form of energy could be used to fuel those cars. If we wanted to we could give everyone in the World a brand new iphone but does that mean its not scarce? Absolutely not. There is only so much material on this World that we can use in its useable form to create iphones but because there is such an abundance of these materials, it is often misconsruded as being absent of scarcity. The scarcity is still there. Its just hasn't become a threat yet.
Now you mentioned the Word Price....this my friend is a conjured up word by the Human race. The price of something only exists because for most things there has to have been someone to work in order to produce a specific good or service. This is an idea that is slowly dissipated as technology advances. Eventually as technology prevails, machines will replace human labor for such items as clothes, food, and other goods. Because of this it will no longer require people to work which will instantly devalue the item. Ever wonder why people pay more for hand crafted items at mom and pop shops? Its because it required more human labor than it did to produce it at a factory with machines to assist people.
Anyway there are a lot of other things you've said which are totally wrong but for me to argue against that it would require a ten page essay so I'll spare everyone from that and conclude with this: I think what we are seeing with the economy and for that matter most of the problems associated with the World, is a backwards system called the Monetary System, that isn't able to catch up with the current times. We have so much knowledge and technology to be able to reduce many of the things people often consider scarce such as energy. The World has so much money that it would seem rediculous to think that most of the World is living in poverty....but its the truth. And its because of backward beliefs in our economics which Worked in the past, that is creating all of these problems. We're seeing a shift occur right before our eyes and people are still sitting here using traditional strategies to battle these issues. Anyway, peace.
There is nothing to fear unless you are lazy. There is no need to be in want unless you are lazy. If you are lazy, you are fucked whether the economy soars or crashes.
God, that's so true.
