I am planning to further undertake a language that is not English at an advanced level through a higher education institution commencing in 2009. Do any of you have any experience in such a lifestyle? If so, how was it, did you learn a lot, and what type of people did you meet in such a class, and how did they, if at all, relate to the language you chose?

Do yourself a favor and memorize Hiragana and Katakana before the start of the class. Find some way to keep up on Japanese outside of class and seperate from your homework, something that will engage you.

Yea, there will be hot chicks in the class, they won't like anime though, they will be business students.
