Just wondering some reccomendations for a 93 grand marquis ...
im kinda in a mood for a sleeper car ...
also i hear that if you cut the cadalytic converter's from the car and being it has a front a rear o2 sensor it will toss the ecu out of wack is this true and if so is there a work around ? as i would like to have a true twin exhuast with a bypass
my also any other reccomendations for performance upgrades would be welcome :) im working with about a 8g budget :)
thanks guys :)

put a LS1 in it
This is the cheapest and easiest and fastest option. With that kind of money your willing to spend I would just recommend an engine swap and new exhaust to go with it.

with that kinda extra power would i also not need to do a tranny drive shaft and diff upgrade ?
and why would i put a 383 in a ford ?
wouldn't it be better going with somthing like this

but to be honest if i can spend less i would rather it ..
but to be honest im happy with the 281 in there

If you want more applicable truths and responses, and proven results we at totse really wont know much about that engine and platform.
crownvic(dot)net on the otherhand will be able to answer anything you could ever ask on the subject of making that 4.6 fly.

The main thing I can tell you is that the 4.6 super is a very common thing and has shit-tons of aftermarket support. It would also be relatively cheap. I am actually going to pick up a 94' T-bird with the 4.6 soon and may look into it at some point. If you do it, expect about 300hp/300tq with a basic setup and proper tuning. Worked engine and more boost can see 400hp easy, like the Cobra makes.

heads, exhaust, intake, shift kit, stall converter, gears, locker, and a one hundred shot of spray.

whipple, vortech, kenne bell? most parts for 4.6 stangs of that year will fit with some modification. or u can drop in a lightning motor.

As poster above said, Kenne Bell is a cheap option. But grab a Ls1 engine, throw cams, headers, and a new ecu on it, and enjoy retarded amounts of power.

Well I bought the T-bird. $250. I'm going to do the bumper and windshield to pass inspection then I am going to get a custom exhaust at my friends' shop. I'm thinking Glasspacks, or at least just straight-through side pipes for that obnoxious race car noise (<3 V8's). If it makes the winter (The engine itself is fine and the tranny is rebuilt ~6-8kmi ago but I might fuck it up doing something dumb in the snow and some electronic glitches have been happening on/off) I will have enough money to throw a S/C on it. My friend says he can probably set me up good for ~$1500-1700 and he guesstimates I will be running over 300/330 hp/tq at low (7-9psi) boost. CAN'T FUCKING WAIT. Oh and I will definitely get a rear end before I go forced induction.
You could always remove the cat and try to break up the catalyst inside. then you have a hollow, free flowing can and can still use the stock O2 sensors. if the sensors are in the pipes on either side and not the cat itself then you could bolt/weld in a straight piece of pipe and still have the cat to swap back in if you ever need to pass an emissions test.

dont punch the cat out. It will sound like shit for one thing and plus the exhaust gasses will have to go into the hallow cat, expand, then be pushed back in the pipe.
but mostly it will have that hallow cat sound:mad:

Yeah If I bother paying for exhaust I do it proper. Besides, the shop does it for cheap so it's not a big deal for me. If I have to get them to re-weld in some cats a year from whenever it really doesn't matter.
