Now i would just goto a pawn shop and get a handgun and all, but problem is i'm not 21. That leaves me with access to semi-auto's/rifles/shotguns.

I want a AK, something i can fuck shit up with if need be. Now i want to be able to LEGALLY carry this in my car. I understand state laws vary widely on this issue. I understand in my state (South Carolina) the gun must be either locked in a case or in a trunk, unaccessible from inside the car. You must exit it to access the weapon.

Now this is the only thing i can't really find a clear answer to, is the ammo. Now i know for a fact it can't be loaded in the trunk, but can there be ammo loaded into a magazine, stowed under driver/passenger seat and/or glove box, or does ammo have to be non-loaded into the magazine. Again this is for South Carolina, that i'm inquiring about.

Anyone care to help me out on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

If you are in an encounter where you get out of your car, open the trunk, retrieve a rifle, and shoot someone, you are going to go to jail for murder.

It is one thing to shoot someone in the process of defending yourself. If you pull a gun and shoot someone who is threatening you, you will probably be OK. However, if you have time to get in your trunk and get a gun, a jury will say that you had time to get away. This would go even further if you were in a car that you could have just as easily escaped in.

You would be better off buying a pistol from a friend and carrying it in spite of the law. Then, you would be in trouble for illegal ccw, but not murder.

No, it doesn't. Supposedly, they had their governor sign into law the private party sale and possession of handguns by people over 18 earlier this year. It was on CNN. The BATFE regs support this. You know about private party sales? Buy a handgun, keep it in your glovebox.

I have already looked into this law. This isn't like a law to get around the law. This law is meant for private sale of individual to individual at the age of 18, such as the purposes for inheritance of guns, or guns bought by a legal guardian and given to a 18 year old, for shooting sports, etc.

Wrong. It works for private party sales- the purchase of a handgun by an individual over the age of 18 from another individual who does not have an FFL. No purpose is mentioned. It doesn't bypass any law, nor did I say it did. Federal law states an FFL can not sell to an individual under 21, and supersedes state law. Nothing is being bypassed.

I've been told by a cop that without a permit I cant have any firearm loaded while in my car. Either he is full of shit or my state law is shit...
