View Full Version : So I just watched The Lion King.
The last time I saw it was approximately eleven years ago at the age of nine. Honestly I'm more impressed with it now than I probably was as a kid.
Between the brilliant animation, engaging storyline, and rather talented voice acting, complete with an Elton John soundtrack, I find it quite easy to see why this is the highest grossing traditionally animated film ever.

No one should ever watch any sequel to a classic Disney film. They freakin' ruin the movies with sequels, it's ridiculous.
Oh, and yes Lion King is a fantastic movie, one of my favorite.

I remember in the original VHS copy I had as a kid there was some sort of error in the audio. In the scene when Scar has Mufasa hanging from the cliff over the stampede, Mufasa says something like "Scar!... Brother!" but in between the two nouns you can slightly hear a different voice saying 'brother' as if it was a cue or something.

That's another one I haven't seen in years. I'll probably catch it soon.
Other favorites: Bambi, Pinocchio, and The Fox and the Hound.

This.
Disney sequels tend to get progressively "bubble wrapped." Example: the first song of "Return of Jafar" where the Genie sings about how awesome friends are.

I didn't mind the all the Aladdin sequels. Granted, I have seen any of them since I was like 10.

The Lion King is the only Disney movie I ever liked, I think I watched it like 8 or 9 times in the cinema when it came out, brilliant film, absolutely outstanding.
Lately I've been finding myself re-watching Ratatouille quite often.

Anyone who watches a movie 8 or 9 times is fucking insane.
Let alone that i's a Disney movie.
That aside, if you're exaggerating, disregard this post.

Nice, Hamlet if I remember correctly? Been a few years since H.S.

Then I'm insane by your standards, no joke but I can easily watch a movie up to ten times easily, if I download something new I can just re-watch it over and over.
Films like Full Metal Jaket I can't even quantify the number of times I've watched them, then there's other films I always watch when I'm tripping or coming down, stuff like Spirited Away or Akira.

I've seen Shrek at least 30 times when I was like 10-11. Knew the whole script and everything. Forgot it now though :/ I've also watched 28 Days Later like 9 times. First I watched it because it was just fucking awesome, but then I started studying it for film making purposes.
The Fox and the Hound.
my all time favorite as a kid. although, when it was pretty sad when i was that little.

i liked aladin: king of theives. where he meets his dad and they find a golden hand or somthing.
I've also watched 28 Days Later ... then I started studying it for film making purposes.
Excellent film for such a reason. I also try to listen to the commentary for as many films as possible, especially those including the director and producer -- very insightful concerning the process.

Same, though I have to say for 28 Days Later in particular, the commentary was a bit lacking. It clarified a few things that happened in the movie and added a bit to the story line, but had almost nothing on the actual making of the movie except for their mistake with Malor.
