But now you do. I'll start. I used to hate tomatoes until recently, I still don't like them on their own but they're delicious on a sandwich or sub. I never used to like watermelon either, but lately it's one of my favorite fruits.

I used to despise cheese that were not processed. If it didn't melt in my mouth I wouldn't eat it. Keep in mind this was years ago, now I've got no qualms about dropping 8 dollars for a hunk of bleu cheese and a crispy baguette and eating it all.

I still can't enjoy all goat cheese.. I'm trying though.

Goats cheese tastes like dirty vaginas. I feel weird eating it.

I'd say mushrooms. Used to really not like them as a kid. Now I love 'em in everything.

Right now, the only common food I can say I actually "hate" is olives.

I'm compelled to ask: have you ever consumed dirty vaginae?

Definitely seafood. Would hardly touch a fish stick as a kid and now I'm always looking for some new kind of fish to try.

Blackened swordfish filets= fantastic.

Not to mention a proper martini isn't a proper martini without an olive.

Also, a proper martini is dry. Extra dry, if I have my way.

I'm a bit of a picky guy when it comes to a martini (not so much with anything else on the bar...usually, I'm willing to trust the bartender). Either Absolut vodka or Beefeater Gin (I prefer gin). I prefer them to pour in whatever vermouth they would usually use in a dry martini, and then pour it out of the glass or off the rocks. Whatever's left is what I'm getting. Other than that, chill the liquor and serve it.

As far as the topic at hand, onions...I wouldn't touch them until a few years ago. I still don't eat them raw (they quite literally make me sick to the stomach when raw), but I love them cooked out for the sweetness.

Having the vermouth jst covering the glass is pretty common I'd asy. Or perhaps we're both just fussy? :D.

Not that I've seen, joe. Most people in these parts prefer dirty martinis, which, as near as I can tell, is a travesty against humanity. However, they also order them from the well. There's no accounting for taste, but I suppose that if I had to have a martini made with gin from the well (which is pretty much antiseptic) or vodka (Nikolai and Fleischmann's), I'd need it dirty to cover up the taste too.

I had a few regulars that would come in specifically for MY martinis at the restaurant I worked at, because I was picky enough to make sure they were great. They wanted top shelf cocktails, so I figured that charging them $8-10 a drink warranted taking some time to make sure that they were well made.

Cabbage, cream cheese...and a lot of other cheeses for that matter...I thought gorgonzola, brie, swiss and blue cheese were vile and now I love all of them. Anything that smelled remotely like vinegar I refused to go near, but now I use it in foods that I eat...there's probably a lot more but I can't remember.

Courgettes and aubergines i've basically only started to actually like pretty recently. Mushrooms I put in some things now, too... the flavour has kinda grown on me, i used to hate them! Cold salad I could always eat when younger, but I rarely enjoyed it much... tastes great now, especially with good vinaigrette...

I never used to like brie/camambert much either, and both of them are pretty damn tasty now... although brie way more.

I guess fish i'm much more open to nowadays, although oily grilled fish still creeps me out, and I'll only eat tinned tuna if I really have to. Shit, I remember after just vegetables for 2 weeks I was pretty fucking impressed with fried tuna in with egg fried noddles and stuff.
