Classic Coen Brothers!

It was just really their style, comedy and otherwise. Amazing seeing as it's them who made it.

Great acting from Brad Pitt! He plays a convincing idiot:D

Even though I'm going against the grain, that movie was fucking retarded. I just finished watching it, It wasn't funny in the least.

Are we even talking about the same movie, because the one I watched was like some poorly-constructed film school project with enough swearing to make a dock worker uncomfortable. Were they trying to beat a record or something?

Even though I really liked the movie, I agree with the profanity.

Most people in the theatre wouldn't laugh at the funny parts. Only at the excessive swearing.
I just loved how simple and unimportant the story was.

Jesus what a clusterfuck...

An instant classic this one.. It works just the way it is.. There isn't a scene too many in there.. And I agree with arguments that the movie wouldn't work without the big names.. You need brad pitt in that role, because he is instantly recognizable and likeable.. And when you SPOILER kill off a character in the first half of the movie you'll need that.. But I thought it was amazingly well written.. It keeps you in the dark the whole trip. And all the while you think the macguffin is the intelligence shit -> it turns out that the real macguffin in this movie is the cosmetic surgery.. Stupidity conquers all. I love that its not another conventional comedy or satire in this case.. I've seen the pineapple express in the same week and really liked em both but burn after reading is much more original.. Pineapple is well written within a standard mold for a funny script.. Burn is really something different.. And I've seen many differing opinions about this one.. But I'll rank it right up there with the best of them..

cheers,
Mental

John Malkovich was amazing in this movie.

This film reminded me of Fargo, in the fact that it was entirely a comedy of errors.

I hate when movies swear a lot. and in fact people who swear a lot as well. When you swear too much "fuck" loses its meaning. Take for instance the departed. Or hey, this movie!

Jarhead beats The Departed in the number of "fuck"s. Plus Jarhead was pretty damn funny.

This film would have been a lot better if someone rode that dildo chair. Not saying it was bad, but with some dildo chair action it would have been Oscar worthy.

This.

.. Is probably some stupid meme that we haven't caught onto yet.

I can't even really think of a dumber gag to use to get a laugh than that dildo chair routine. The same people that think that's hilarious are probably the same people that say shit like "epic win" all the time. Usually I love the Coen bros, comedy and all, but that whole part was painfully stupid to me.

Dildo chair, squares!

I thought it was a good film, quite dark and weird at times... arrived about 5 minutes late, but it was pretty obvious what was going on. I guess I did think it was disappointing though, what with such an all-star cast, and such brilliant directors. It had some genuine LOL moments, but overall it had this weird cynical ambience, which culminated quite well at the end.

At the same time, it was quite an unfulfilling ending, and the whole film was a bit unbelievable and flawed (all the stuff with the CD.... WHY is it in t'gym to start with?!). Definitely didn't impress as much as some Coen bros films i've seen have done, but I could tell I enjoyed it more than some of the audience...
