Where is the Republican outrage? I want to see Billy O' tearing into McCain on the next Factor. I expect that all the people who believe Obama is a muslim terrorist communist will now have a rough time deciding who to vote for - since either is a 'win for the terrerists' ... right..
I think it's sad that "al qaeda's" endorsement means anything at all. Granted, it's kind of ironic that the terrorist Obama doesn't get the terrorist endorsement, meanwhile the war veteran doesn't get the powell endorsement. Anyways, spin is spin. IT shouldn't mean anything because it doesn't. Republicans could very well say it's being done by al qaeda so that obama will win. They're instigating the win of a "weaker" president. In fact, I'm sure rush and hannity will be saying that soon. Madness. these sand-niggers shouldn't be relevant in the election.

I doubt this will get as much coverage as the Ayers/Wright things because 1. The Demo's won't want to bring it down to that level with only a week left, after they've run a relatively (when compared to McCain) clean campaign. and 2. All the loudest, dumbest television reporters who would make something like this a big deal are Republican.

Republicans won't be outraged because they don't share that same belief as Al Queda. The terrorists are supporting McCain because they feel the reason why they have gained such a foothold in Iraq and Afganistan is because we invaded and since McCain is in full support for extending these proxy wars they feel he will make them more powerful. Republicans, however, share a different view. They feel it is only in our absence, that these terrorists organizations will thrive and the only way to get rid of terrorists is to involve ourselves in those countries. Both are somewhat right and somewhat wrong. The fact that we not only invaded the country but intentionally destabilized it, led to a growth in terrorist related activities. The people of Iraq were happy that we ousted Suddam, however, because we continued to tear up the country, people began to resent us literally to the point of fighting back. Everyone, particularily Westerners, tend to categorize terrorism into one single category. We tend to think all terrorists share the same beliefs and ideas as Hezzbala or the Taliban. I think until people realize that terrorism is a technique rather than a type of group is when we will begin to fully understand this "terrorist threat" the World is suffering from. Taliban or Al Queda are organizations that practice terrorism just as the U.S does to its own people (although most of our terrorist tactics tend to be psychological rather than physical such as this illusion of a "terrorist threat"). So essentially those suicide bombers that you see on tv, may have connections with these major organizations but the whole drive towards terrorism in these middle eastern countries is a result of our exploitation of these countries. There is no such thing as this massive movement for an islamic world. Only a few terrorist groups share this desire. Most terrorists act in response to the desire to simply be left alone. In Western societies we name them terrorists and in technical terms they are terrorists. Most people see their actions rather than look at how they came to commit that act. But if you really take the time to read up and educate yourself you will find the root cause of all of this strife you see on this news comes right back to us. Sorry if what I am saying doesn't make sense....kind of rambled on there but what I'm trying to say is dumb republicans will continue to vote for McCain because they don't understand how Country is able to breed new terrorists to begin with and dumb democrats will continue to vote for Obama actually believing there is change while also equally being ignorant of how things ended up the way they are today. Our only chance for survival is education, education, education. Don't just read the news, don't just limit your study time for school. Really get into. Spend time to read up on history, economics, and political science. It may take a few years but eventually you'll begin to see how things are connected and what the real problem is. Terrorism is not the problem....its the result of the problem.

Since when do we care about what Al Qaeda thinks? If they supported Obama, it wouldn't make a fucking difference. I'm going to vote for Obama currently, and while I leave open the possibility of something changing that, what Al Qaeda thinks will not factor into my decision making process at all. Fuck them. Why should their opinion have any impact on anything whatsoever?

McCain is not senile nor is Bush or anyone in the current or future administration. If anything our government is smart because for the first time in Human History they have figured out a way to control the World without anyone even knowing it. They know what they are doing, it is We who do not know what they are doing and because of this fact we see their unsound policies as crazy, which they are, but instead of trying to figure out why they do these things we convince ourselves that our politicians are merely retarded. I think Kevin Spacey sums it up when he said "The greatest trick the Devil ever played was convincing everyone that he didn't exist".

In spite of your sarcasm, in some sense, you've hit the nail on the head. Bush and McCain say those things about staying in Iraq and how thats the only way to fight terrorism because they want you to believe that. They spread these retarded ideas not because they actually believe in them but because its a rather plausible excuse to implement their own intentions. Think about it. If Bush came out and said, "Listen America, there's a hell of a lot of oil in Iraq and we want it so lets work at war time speed to get the ball rolling", then there would be zero popular support followed by an impeachment. But if Bush were to say "Hey listen America, remember 9/11? Yeah its called a terrorist threat and Iraq has involvement in this crisis so we need to move at war time speed to spread freedom and democracy to these poor people who are consistently plagued by terrorism", then there would be much more support and it would have legitimized their intentions and because he did in fact say this, many people bought it and fully supported the idea of invading Iraq....it wasn't until a few years later when we saw the end result when all this Bush bashing occurred. Of course the general population will see this simply as "Bush is a dumbass who made a bad choice and now we're suffering from it. Anyone who claims this was for economic intentions and indirect imperial control is considered a conspiracy nut job". The only people who would even care to consider this theory to be a likely possibility are people like me and many others on this forum who have studied this subject for years. People like Ron Paul and BJ Lawson. I'm not basing my beliefs off of some dude's youtube video, but rather substantial evidence I have read up on over the years. So please continue to wallow in your own ignorance. It's much easier to live that way.

Obama is not a terrorist. You have nothing to suggest he is, excepting the possibility of invalid guilt by association bullshit, and even THAT does not suggest he is a terrorist.
Fail.
McCain being a war vet should have nothing to do with his presidential capacity. Explain to me how being a POW or being in the military qualifies someone for presidency. Powell does not have to chose him simply b/c they were both in the military. Powell is smarter than this, that is why his endorsement and opinion are highly regarded.
The fact that they were both in the military, and Powell and other military officials still endorsed Obama should tell you something.
Fail.

As far as Al Queda goes, if this shit starts getting reported on a national level and effects the outcome of our presidency, Americans lose. This organization should be completely ignored in regards to whom it feels is better fit to lead our country.

Mr. Kitty55:
The first flaw I see in your argument is that you have categorized terrorist into one specific type of person. THEY as in terrorists, actually consists of several factions which I might add coincidently formed after WWII and if you read up on your History it is also coincidently when you first began to see Modern American foriegn policies surge. So couldn't one argue that there is a correlation between Western involvement and a rise in terrorist activities? It's not simple enough to claim they hate us for being democratic, free and happy. There has to be a reason why their lives are the way they are. Why is it that most of the World is considerably poor? Why is it like this in the 21st century when we have progressed so much in knowledge? Why was the distribution of Wealth much more balanced out prior to the 20th Century? Keep these questions in mind and start with that. Once you find these answers then your perspective on current events will be shattering and you'll no longer think like everyone else does. I'd explain it for you but that would require a dissertation (literally).

Obviously Bush was going to war with or without 911, but that doesn't make him any less of a retard. Please, tell me what is Bush's end game for Iraq and how is plan is going along so perfectly. As for McCain being senile...he just is. If you would listen to a few of his speeches you might see that. Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dexKOpwexc

Okay, well said. It does piss me off a little that it's okay for the Repubs to call out Obama for being a 'secret Muslim' (like simply being Muslim is to be 'against America') or saying he 'pals around' with terrorists and all of this is reported and made into an issue. I can garentee that if Al Qaeda supported Obama Fox news and the McCain campaign would be on that like white on rice. The way that the Democrats have (so far) dealt with this should be a testament to that party. Like you said - it would be irresponsible to make this into an election issue, yet it is practically no question that if it was on the other foot the G.O.P. would make it into an issue.
Do you think that this election could spend the end of the G.O.P. as we know it? It seems like there is a lot of internal strife going on as certain members move closer to the extreme right and away from the 'elitist, liberal, educated' center - and a lot of econ conservative voters and leaving in droves. This election (and the Bush elections) and the general way the Republican party has been running itself in the last decade shows that they care more about getting a candidate elected - even to the detriment of the country. Like McLellands book says, they run the Presidency as though it is always campaign time. There is no way you can get the G.O.P. of today to work across the isle with Demo's - the Teddy Roosevelts and Reagans are replaced now with Sarah Palin's and George Bushes (not to mention a whole regiment of Rush Limbaughs and Bill O'reilly). We have completely witnessed a 'dumbing down' of the Republican party and I doubt it can continue for long as it is now.

We can all say that Al Qaeda has no relevance in our decisions. However, it is not our decisions that dictate how our government operates. We like to think so, but our government always operates in ways we tell it not to. Whether we like it or not, most of our foreign policy now IS dictated by Al Qaeda's actions. Because of this we are seeing the problems with the policy leaking into other areas of government.
