basically this thread is to see who has been to the most places on this rock we call home.
if you want you can include why you went where you did, where you want to go next, or any thing else having to do with traveling.

so no one beside wolfy has been any where? wow. thats sad.
i guess that gives me all the bragging rights though, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
It's not that. Just, this thread took a turn for the ridicules pretty fast. And I also think that any real traveller doesn't travel to brag, but to just see the places and gain knowledge, not to see how big his dick is.

Hey lostmyface, you're a fucking yank, yeah? Going to Wales is like going to New Jersey for you people. If you want to brag, go spend a couple of years in Botswana, and THEN you can come back and brag about how adventurous you are. Only, you won't be bragging because by then you'll be experienced enough to understand how much of a faggot you are for making this post.
Typical American gobshite.

i feel that my intentions have been mis read. sybil, it was not my goal to show you all how big my dick is. i was just trying to start a dialog. see who had been where an why. perhaps find some similarities amongst other travelers. maybe even inspire those that have not left their home town to do so. it seems i failed at that. perhaps it was my fault. perhaps it was the psychology of totse. who knows.
smaknixon. i dont know who the heck you are or how you think you know me an all other Americans but you dont. i am not going to call you an gobshite or a faggot or a tool even though i think you are all of those things an more. i just hope you can grow up one day an realize there is no reason to be aggressive on an internet forum. that being said i love your name.
for anyone interested wales was awesome an holds a special place in my heart. it was a physically gorgeous country with a vibrant culture. i am very hard pressed to think of one negative experience during my time in that part of the world. i cant wait to go back someday. to try an compare it to new jersey is not only ignorant but, well i guess it is just ignorant. new jersey has some very nice areas as does wales. proving yet again that stereotypes are usually false.

Yeah right.

I think it's really cool that you've been in every state in the USA though. More Americans should do this so they at least have some geographical knowledge of their OWN country :p.

sybil,
yeah i agree. most Americans don't realize what a stunning country they live in. i was lucky enough to have a family that believed heavily in the notion of the family road trip. so i got to see most of this great country from the back of a minivan.
i wouldn't trade those early trips for anything.

This thread reminds me of these dickheads I met at a hostel in Tirane, Albania.
They were on a mission to go to as many countries as possible while they were on holiday. Was showing them a few good bars and having a drink and they're like well we've been here, here, here, here.....
So I'm like, yeah well how'd you like Varna (Bulgaria), I loved it, did you checkout the beaches? Oh no, we were only there for one day. Turns out that the longest they spent in any given country was one or two days.
What the fuck is the point then? You cant get a feel for the culture or really see anything of interest. The shortest period I spent in a country was two weeks and even then I didn't really feel qualified to comment. After having spent three months in Bulgaria I was getting to the point that I'd seen most worth seeing and it was time to move on.
Fucking bragging rights. Bet they get home and they'll be talking it up about what superstar globetrotters they were.

Don't get down on yourself.
Bragging about where you've been is no different than bragging about your car, size of your dick or anything else for that matter.
It's when people think they're better than somebody else because of this that pisses me off.

ok - here is my list of countries visited so far:
Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, Holland, Germany, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Israel, Egypt, Thailand, Burma, India, Nepal, Colombia.
I lived in England (East Anglia) for 23 months and did stay in most places visited for at least a few weeks as I agree with the idea of achieving as much immersion into a culture as can be managed instead of the superficial, kaleidescopic and often mercenary experience many folks associate with having 'done' a place ... the word 'done' (mostly unwittingly) often being used figuratively to mean fuck, or even kill. Everyone knows the sort of traveler I am describing - and often this traveler is one of my American countrymen - who has me quietly pulling the brim of my hat down and sinking lower in my seat, as the fool bumbles/swaggers into a group of fellow travelers (say, hanging out in the hostel common room) and loudly proclaims their cluelessness ... and reveals their arrogant opinion of themselves by displaying a condescending superiority to all that surrounds them.
The hope (for me) is that more (and better!) travel and the rich and diverse cultural experiences that can be gathered from a thoughtful, open-minded approach to willful wandering is essential for the interconnectivity and cross-cultural pollination needed for the deeper level of understanding that we must necessarily cultivate in order to survive ourselves and our ongoing (self) destructive ignorance and irrational hostilty towards one another. *pauses for a deep breath*
Happy Trails to You, I hope we meet again! *whistles tune*

Live in Canada so have been to the States a few times - Boston, Maine, New Jersey...On study abroad in Ireland as we speak so traveled all around this country - still haven't been to Cork though (I know I know, I gotta kiss the Blarney stone before I go home)..Been all across Canada also. Went to France and Spain last month to Biarritz (Southern France) and San Sebastien Spain - had to get out of the Irish rain haha Next week I'm off to Poland (Krakow) but I'm only there for a few days ... wondering if I should head to Aushwitz..want to see it, but I also want to get shopping and clubbing in..we'll see what happens. Early next year I'll be heading to Bavaria (in Germany) to visit my house-mate as well as Vienna to see my cousin. My girlfriend is coming over to see me late next year as well and I think we might make the traditional tourist rounds - Paris, Rome, - but I also wanna get to Greece and some other places.
Oh, and my friend and I might go to Lebanon at some point. Because this seems somewhat dangerous I think we're just going to get in, maybe stay 1 night and get out.
