ITT, we bitch about really piss-poor sequels. Sure, sequels rarely come up to the original (exceptions including The Godfather II and Bride of Frankenstein)--but some are so poorly done, such obvious attempts at making a quick cheap buck, it is disgusting.

Take Lake Placid II--please. I loved the first one, waited eagerly for the sequel to filter down from the new release section to the 99 cent section at BB--and it was awful. Wooden acting, totally cliched characters, gratuitous soft-cord porn, mediocre FX--what a piece of poop.

So--what sequels do you love to hate?

For me, Highlander 2: The Quickening is the epitome of sequel assfuckery. I'm sure I could name more but this one is the movie that springs to mind when asked about sequels that suck.

If movies were abortions, this would be a 3rd trimester, back alley, coat hanger fuck job.

Most sequels suck, there are some exceptions of course, but that still rarely happens.

Blair Witch Project 2 - the epitome of fail.
Spiderman 2.
Ocean's Twelve blew.
One exception is Terminator 2, which is undoubtedly one of the greatest movies ever conceived.

i disagree, I thought it was pretty good. It' didn't have the raw feeling of the first one, but it had a little more flare. It had a better pace to it.

Horror movies have the absolute worst sequels of any genre.

I had a dream last night about a Fight Club sequel. it had Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter as Tyler and Marla, but Ed Norton was replaced by some fat indian with a bad accent.

the plot had something to do with The Narrator and Tyler trying to take down Project Mayhem which had evolved into a huge organisation......pretty fucking stupid considering the end of the first.

there was also a scene involving Seth Rogen and some other dudes stoned off they're heads talking about a "Miracle Drug".

if that movie existed it'd get my vote for the worst sequel ever.....cause it was fucking horrible.

Blade 3 was awesomely corny with some good fight scenes. Not a bad movie.

Hellboy 2 lost all the character of the first one and turned Hellboy into a whipped bitch. Plus, it was predictable as fuck.

We all know how much arse the Saw sequels kick...

Although the first one wasn't that great imo, I've never really seen a good criminal thriller, I always thought they could be made better.
