I generally don't do christmas, but if I'm with family this year it'll likely be turkey, variety of stuffing, veggies (sprouts, brocolli, carrots etc), roast potaotes, roast parsnips, some kind of pie. Roast ham, Assorted festive treats.

Nothing too fancy.

What about you guys?

unfortunately being of the chosen tribe i don't get to celebrate Christmas. but my family does a big thing for Hanukkah every year.

the meal usually consists of potato pancakes flavored with dill an garlic

white fish patties with lots of pepper an onions

borchst, which is a cold beat soup, served with a dollop of sour cream

my grandmas secret melt in your mouth brisket

assorted roasted veggies, usually carrots potatoes parsnips an onions

an for dessert home made jelly dougnuts

And since my sister turned vegetarian, a big couscous an chikpea salad has also become a family staple.

I'll be eating whatever I'm served; presumably, it'll be good fare.

I'm going to be on vacation this Christmas.

If I ate with my parents I could tell you what I will eat, because they've been doing the same thing for Christmas dinner for YEARS. But who knows what I will do?

Not one bound by tradition I take it.

Still, will you go the extra mile to treat yourself?

Whatever is on the table, I don't really get into the christmas spirit.

Planning a meal two months in advance is a bit much for most people. What brings Christmas to mind so early in the year?

Well, if I'm honest the whole thanksgiving thing jolted my memory.

A sunday Roast (England) is very much the same as a christmas dinner, so it doesn't bother me so much. I'm just interested as to what people eat on special occasions like this. There's no need to be a toss about it. Jesustookmybike123 used to have chicken meatballs and pasta bless her.

I just like seeing what people do.

In the past, I always had a few Christmas dinners:
I'd have a Christmas dinner that was full of traditional Hungarian foods.
I'd have a Christmas dinner that was full of traditional Christmas foods.
I'd have a Christmas dinner full of booze and pizza.
I'd have a Christmas dinner that was potluck.
I'd have a Christmas dinner of sandwiches and pickles.
I'd have a Christmas dinner of vegetarian foods.
And lastly, I'd have a Christmas dinner of traditional Japanese foods.

The Christmas season was a very fun, festive, and busy time of year.

For the past few years, I haven't been in the hometown to celebrate that sort of Christmas.

Roast goose.
Baked sweet potatoes.
Mashed potatoes.
Macaroni & cheese.
Green beans and other vegetables.
Red wine, per usual and mulled.
Puimpkin pie.
Sweet potato pie.
Applie sauce.
Mead.
Cider.

Mostly a re-hashing of Thanksgiving, different meat and more alcohol FTW.
