I love sprouts. A good, delicate nutty flavour to them.

However, aside from some odd seasoning, I have no idea what to do with them. Any ideas guys?

Assuming you're talking about bean sprouts and the like, here's one of my favorite sandwiches:

On dark pumpernickel, or rye:
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced Avocado
Muenster cheese
Alfalfa sprouts

Toast the pumpernickel with the muenster on the top slice, then put the sandwich together. Its sooo good.

Sprouts are good

Fry them up with diced bacon, garlic and sage. Yum.

Rice vermicelli goes quite well with bean sprouts.

There's a pretty solid recipe, but you have to add the sprouts in yourself.

Oh, just add garlic, lemon juice, and butter.

Never overcook them.

i love these things. what i do is blanch them in some boiling water for about four minutes.

then i take em out an let em cool. next cut them in half so that the stem keeps the leaves together on both halves.

then trow em in a baking dish with olive oil cider vinegar salt pepper an a bit of thyme.

throw this under your broiler until they are nice a crisp. i find this method really enhances the natural nuttiness of the sprout.

to sever top with a bit of bacon an a drizzle of olive oil

Ingredients

2 pounds Brussels sprouts
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme leaves or 1 teaspoon dried
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano leaves or 1 teaspoon dried
1/4 cup pine nuts
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Directions

Heat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Cut the bottoms off the Brussels sprouts and trim off any damaged outer leaves. Soak them in a bowl of cold water for a few minutes and drain them well. Cut them in half and put them into a roasting pan. Add the thyme, oregano, pine nuts, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the olive oil and vinegar and toss everything well to coat. Put the roasting pan into the oven and cook for 20 minutes. Give everything a good stir and cook for 25 minutes more, or until the Brussels sprouts are nicely browned and caramelized. Serve immediately.

I've often grilled Brussels sprouts in aluminum foil with other vegetables. Also added sliced squash, banana peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, etc, with a chunk of butter and garlic, pepper, and salt.
