On mesh to micron conversion charts it shows the 5 microns is equal to 2500 mesh. I can obtain some 5 micron German Blackhead Al powder that is of a great quality for a tiny price. Is it possibly to small for flash powder or will the mixture just be burning very fast?

This is a BB related topic
They don't spoonfeed, or take kindly to people asking straight up questions.
With a bit of research the answer could be found very easily.
Yeah, I use 5 micron german black for flash, its pretty much the standard flash grade aluminium for 70:30 perc:Al.

Moving to BB.

Make sure you at least show a hint at some research on your part. As Von Bass pointed out for me....we don't like spoon feeding here. It gets old, and you're much less likely to hurt yourself when you do the research and understand the topic of interest completely. If we told you how to do a dangerous reaction, but didn't let you know what could go wrong and what to look for....you could be severely injured.

On a side note....BB seems to be far less tolerant with this kind of shit that we are here....so be prepared to have two or three new assholes if you keep this kind of stuff up.

to be honest 5 micron seems rather impossible im sure it's (COULD) be true but im sure it is also a marketing gimic .. most commercial mesh is in the 44 micron range ...

though if your did have 5 micron a certainly would not waste it on somthing like flash

IIRC that site that used to sell just aluminum powder had 2 and 3 micron flake... but its been a while and IIRC it recently quit... hmm.

Don't make and sell boomers, please.

Flash is not something to take lightly.

could you send me the site via email owner at warweed dot com

i should be able to verify it ..

most major distributers will give you manufacture details and most manufactures provide there distributers with authenticity certificates and have analysis reports of there product

uhh yeah that was the kind of the reason of the post, to find if something bad would happen with it being to small.

It says 5 microns, doesn't look like 5 microns. A friend is selling me the exact substance pictured on this page: http://www.highqualitychems.com/servlet/the-22/ALUMINUM-POWDER-DARK-BLACKHEAD/Detail for only 8$. I'm somewhat doubting it is 5 microns.

$8/lb is very cheap if that is indeed what it is...

... How good of a friend is he?

It could be legit and he might be giving you a very good price as a friend and somewhat as a present, because he will very likely be losing money at that price... unless somehow hes getting it at a very very low price...

Its the process that dark aluminums go through in manufacture that makes them so expensive...

Hes a good friend. He bought 3 lbs of it about a month ago. I am gonna buy it because I mean its 8$ for dark aluminum, can't pass that up.

Interesting that that place doesn't seem to have the 2lb per year policy on flash aluminums... cool I guess. That or your friend ordered from multiple places or ebay... guess it doesn't matter...

Be safe and have fun...

Just please don't make and sell boomers...
