I'm thinking about buying a GSG-5, which is a MP5 clone but in 22lr. Thoughts?
Oh, and anyone know if the stock and fake suppressor are removable?

I've heard they suffer from issues such as excessive bolt peening, etc.
No. If you remove the stock and have it operable, you've created a pistol legally, and this won't fly unless you had it registered from factory as a pistol. Pistols, you can put stocks on and remove with barrels over 16 inches. If you remove the fake suppressor, then you have to shorten the barrel, to the best of my knowledge. If you shorten the barrel, you need it approved as a SBR first.
I made the mistake of buying one, lucky I was able to sell it right away for the same price I bought it for.
It, like any .22 is fun to shoot. It is slightly accurate. It looks cool.
The fun stops there...
It has a thin barrel that seems so flimsy, an overcomplicated design that has you spending hours looking for little springs that flew out while you were cleaning it, and a cheap airsofty feel. It is not a true mp5 in .22, but an mp5 airsoft in .22.
TLDR... DO NOT FUCKING BUY THIS GUN!!!
