Nothing will happen, it'll be business as usual, you'll probably stay in Iraq for a few more years(probably as many as if there was a Republican in the White House), you'll escalate the conflict in Afghanistan probably extending it to the tribal areas of Pakistan, also I seriously doubt he'll rethink NAFTA.

On the domestic level, you might end up with some sort of badly thought healthcare system, that'll waste billions and would probably end up more costly and less efficient than the European socialized healthcare.

Apart from that I can't think of anything else.

i agree that that's probably what's most likely to happen if obama wins, although i see us getting out of iraq a lot sooner...within a year at the latest. and i'm not so sure about escalation in afghanistan.

i think it depends on how things go over there. personally, i expect things to calm down with bush gone, but meh.

also, i think there's going to be a major push for tighter gun control laws and, with a mostly democrat controlled government, it'll certainly happen.

^ As far as gun control goes I doubt it'll happen, Obama is certainly well aware that firearms play a big part in American culture, hell one could even say they're the very reason you're an independent nation right now, I'm sure he also knows that trying to pass an AWB 2.0 will galvanize the Republican base, his party would certainly lose control of Congress for this.

I think the firearms issue depends a lot more on who he will appoint in the Supreme Court, anyway there are several other issues he'll be busy with in his first term, both on the domestic front and internationally he'll have other priorities.

I don't think it's going to matter who gets in, the US is doomed to some pretty serious economic, internal security, and immigration issues. There are no good solutions to these things, and bad things are going to happen despite who might be in charge.

Re-banning assault or hi-cap firearms.
