I think it is a step to the side, really. It doesn't help, but it doesn't hurt. It merely distracts people from the issue by helping people get off drugs and back int a society that makes it a criminal offense to possess and use them. That satisfies some people, but it does nothing for decriminalization efforts.

A real step forward would be to end the sentencing distinction between crack and powdered coke, or reducing sentences across the board.

I think it's poorly written and wastes money. It would be better to vote this down and wait for a well written proposition.

I voted no on all propositions like I always do. Propositions, to me, is a way to sell shitty laws to the people by tricking them into voting for it. I doubt anyone even understands the repercussions of each individual proposition. So instead of risking such repercussions, I tend to vote conservatively and say "keep everything the way it is." California's economy is driven by industry anyway. When we progress, its usually because our industries pulled us that way. Not because we voted for it.
