A thought occurred to me today while watching the election. With a black now in the top position (or soon to be at least), would this be a trump card in arguments about race? Do you think blacks have much to still fight about with a black man now elected to the highest office.

No more race card

Well I'll certainly use this as an argument against the race card. It's so annoying when black people pull that shit.

Maybe whites can now pull the race card, lol. If obama created policies directly helping minorities, wouldn't it be ok to do so?

There have been policies directly helping minorities for a while, they're called affirmative action. Whites should be able to play the race card already.

i kind of have a feeling....just because Obama is the first black president, that a civil war might occur due to decrease in economy or some sort, and thus split america in 2 thus amero arrives............just a thought

Obama's only 1/2 black.

So no.. not until we have a completely black president descended from former slaves shall we have achieved equality.

He kinda used the race card on his own "I don't look like all the other presidents on the dollar bill". I don't think that sounds like objectivity, and not using the race card. Black or Half Black, if he wanted to end divisive politics, he's a full hypocrite. The prospect that his election ended the use of the race card is so facetious, it doesn't show that the race card won't work, it shows that if your a minority you can use the race card as a club to relentlessly massacre your opponents, and avoid the issues. Wow, in making a whole campaign which was supposed to "transcend politics", "change" the nation, "improve race relations" and put an end to "divisive politics", it turns out he's just became the first black president, and used the same divisive politics, how Machiavellian, how dishonest, I guess the American public and electoral college got played for fools on this one.
Maybe this is the way I see things, as a "bitter white American clinging to guns" and whatever freedoms, truths, securities and certainties I've got left, which seems to be hard for a man who talks of "change", "hope" and security (even with his scant national security and foreign policy experience).
But as I said, I guess this is the way I see things.

Until racism doesn't exist, black people will always have a right to "play the race card," which is something I would rather describe as rationalizing an injustice due to a legitimate prejudice. I'm not saying lots of black people don't use this to their advantage, but for those who genuinely are being persecuted, Obama being president doesn't automatically make them equal in the eyes of society.

Think about it. On Nov 5th, did racism go away? No. The fact that we're even having this conversation means there's still some fundamental equality.

And the idea of a "trump card" is ridiculous. I won't explain because I think my typing is keeping my roommate awake.

niggers will never run out of excuses. but think about it, anyone black or white, who isn't a separatist doesn't have the right to complain anyway, even before this. and there are very few black separtists, because they realize it's best for them in a mixed country so they can continue to suck on whiteys tit.

Black people should just shut the fuck up, if they want something bad enough start a riot and if they manage to score some crits on the establishment we should levy out human rights accordingly

The race card? If Obama's capped they'll break out the Royal Flush.
