Can a car fail its inspection for having a part of the wheel bent?

I dont have pictures, but the rear passenger side wheel, a part of it is bent. Where the bead of the tire meets the steel of the wheel. The bent is out, not in,and its not deep so the air and bead still holds.

But my uncle keeps pestering me to go and buy a new wheel. Hes worried it will fail the inspection because of it. normally I would tell him to shut up cause I know better, but its because of him that a got such a great deal on this car.. :/

so yeah. can it?

I think it will depend on your local laws. You know, it never hurts to at least ask someone who does inspections for a living to take a quick look and tell you a yes or no.

Great idea.

Except my uncle just went out bought a new wheel and went to get it inspected himself.

So I guess no skin off my back..

thanks.

If it was just a standard steel wheel, you can knock it back into shape with a hammer. Carefully.

Try it. Your dads bought a new wheel, so nothing to lose.

I wouldn't mind a list of inspection details from where ever you guys are from, be interesting to compare them to where I am.
