Set to be the next emperor of the world. The President of America. The first African-American president of America. Quite historic.

Maybe I'm abit paranoid, maybe abit crazy.. But I have been thinking of something... And it does not seem all that crazy to me. So here we go:


Obama was popularly elected. The masses love him. The African-American masses, some 40 million of the, they worship Obama. Now let's imagine, what if the dream was shattered?

What if Obama was assassinated? What exactly would happen?

The African-Americans would riot. They would be enraged that their great hero was assassinated. And they would take out their frustration against the "white-folk" responsible.

This would escalate to the point where the local authorities would be incapable of anything. So the only option would be a full scale deployment of the Armed Forces on home soil, to "help protect" the "innocent civilians" caught up in the midst of madness and chaos. General curfews, martial law, etc. would all come into play. All American forces would be pulled back from everywhere else to contain the internal threat.

Nice escape plan, isn't it? No withdrawal strategies, no international commitments. After all, how can a country the brink of a civil war have an army trying to help someone else? And most would not even consider it a big deal, it would be quite forgivable regardless of what happens in Iraq and Afghanistan or anywhere else.

Now, with the country on lock down. What can the government not do to "secure freedoms" of its people?

Anyone and everyone can be "taken care of" and it would be blamed on racial tensions. Everything will be changed exactly to the way the government wants it

Of course it's possible. Do I see it actually happening... kind of, but I doubt it. I do however see a possible Civil War/Revolution coming up though (which would still bring in many of the ideas you have).

Yeah, my maternal grandparents are from Slovakia, and my paternal great grandparents are from Ireland. So the furthest back any of my DNA was in the States was the early 1900s, but I still get shit from all the blacks around me from time to time. A quick explanation on this (especially the fact that my great-grandparents had to deal with Hitler) gets them off my back.

Sure, the "inner cities" will erupt in violence and looting; they always do. But the violence will begin the moment the announcement is made; long before it's even made clear who's responsible.

Once the smoke clears, there will be a public indictment of not one, but a cabal of conspirators, oooohhh. There is no guilty party, just a handful of straw men and scapegoats scattered throughout the world; Third World Fascists who are suddenly a "threat" despite decades of US cooperation and assistance.

These New Oswalds, these Box-Cutter Burkas, will be the invisible boogeymen that the press splashes on the front pages for the next 7 years, and Rahm Emanuel's justification for increasing the US presence abroad.

I disagree. Then a president would be dead. It would be slightly different. It won't be as bad, because their priority has been acomplished and it has been proved that a black man can be president. The new era would already have started.

But if they killed him before he takes the oath by a "red-neck/cracker", thats when it would have a much greater effect, because it will take their "hope" away.

It must also be an internal thing, because an external threat would only give cause for an invasion of XYZ but not action on home soil.

It's more than that, more than you can imagine. I predict everything is going to shit in America in the next four years under the Obama administration. These are some things America should be worried about.

Ok, guys, to be honest, IF someone had the balls to try and assassinate Obama, the possibility of it actually succeeding is slim to none. I'm not saying it's not possible, because there are some fucked-up, hard-right, racists out there that won't stand for a "filthy slave" as the leader of our nation. But the likelihood of there being a successful assassination is low. IF somehow they did succeed, I am pretty sure that this nation would break out in civil war, then when we're preoccupied with ourselves, the world will kick us when we're down. Again, chances=close to zero. Good question though.
