Anybody ever had a tooth so loose that you thought you could pull it yourself.? ..I dont need any suggestions like getting punched out or tying a string to it and attaching the other end to a doorknob because I dont have the guts....I've always been a big pussy when it comes to the dentist...I had this happen once before and tried drinking myself almost to the point of death but still could not do it..

Can I get some input on this subject...............Thanks

My mom pulled them out by gripping them at the gum with her long fingernails.

*shiver* I'm glad I've got all my old ones out.

I'm very happy to hear that last year your mommy pulled the little kids tooth out ......Did you cry much?

Step 1: Grab tooth.
Step 2: Yank real hard.
Step 3: Yell loudly.

Repeat until tooth comes out then use gauze to control any possible bleeding.

go to a dentist that will put you out completely. I had a tooth pulled last year with just novacaine and even though you don't feel the pain, you do feel the pressure of the tooth being twisted and pulled! it's really a disgusting feeling.

What's with everyones fear of the dentist. It's really not that bad.

Go in, get two injections (one in somewhere, one in the gum) They aren't that bad! Then they just grab the tooth and in 1 second it's pulled and in a bag waiting for you to take home :)

You then get gauze to control the bleeding and a numb mouth to go home with. I would have to say that the numb mouth is the worst part.

jesus christ.

when my milk teeth were falling out, i just licked them around till they detached, i liked to shove the tip of my tongue between the tooth and the gum till the tooth slowly came off. Nice and painless.

however, i did do the door knob shit too. Wasn't too good.

OP, i suggest going to the dentist. Over there everything's under control in case the shit hits the fan (the chances of that happening there are 0 to none, unlike DIY shit). In case you want to continue with your DIY extraction, make sure you have everything ready BEFORE you start (painkillers, gauze, tampon, whatever)

I knew there were a lot of kids on &T, but damn, there are people who are still losing teeth...?

Try eating some chewy candy like airheads or taffy or something. Or take a jolly rancher and bite(hold pressure) on it with the tooth in question until it gets stuck to it and then open your mouth really quick.

drink a glass of water and then swish your mouth out with alcohol ...and then wait for a while. repeat and then just pull it out maken sure you use pliers

When you use the plyers to pull it out, sorta roll it around as you pull it out.
Sorta like when you are pulling a fence post out.

I had a loose tooth & went to the Dentist about it, he gave me the injections then pulled the tooth out, he was a bit fast & the bottom tip of the root broke off & is still in my jaw, can't feel it or anything. Notta problem.

I just wish I knew more about it & I woulda did it myself.
The releif from the pain would have been its own reward.

I had a bump on my jaw that was quite visibal. He shoved a scalpal in there & cut the skin/meat & this stuff came out.
I never actually saw that, but felt it hit the other side of my mouth & the assistant jumped back too.

Yeah. DIY.

Yeah WTF is with all these people trying to expedite the process.

Also I guess I'm the only one who is 90's enough to think of this? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmc8EQaFS4U)

You're wrong on both counts.....Loose teeth can occur at any age..It's a matter of gum erosion ..You can brush, gargle and floss all you want but eventually the tooth is a goner..

Wiggle the toothe every day. It might not even be loose at all on the first day, but it will be in a couple of days. Just give it a thorough iwggling every day, until you wiggle and twist it enough to feel the roots break - or most of them.

Then you give it a few more until you think theres no way in hell it can still be hanging in there from that little thread.

That's when you dry it with a tissue, get a good grip between thumb and index finger, and give it a sharp tug directly up or down, depending on lower or upper jaw.

Ta da.

This.

It felt kinda nice when the teeth was getting wobblier and wobblier over the days, until it just detached.

While I'm not going to advocate you attempt pulling your own teeth, I will say this - it won't come straight out. You have to clamp down on it, twist to break it free of the bone, and then pull.

But seriously, don't try it. Getting teeth pulled sucks enough with a local anesthetic. I can't imagine what it'd be like without.

I need to go to the dentist soon myself. Need four teeth pulled, possibly wisdoms too.

that is nothing dude. One of my teeth had a cavity bad enough that it needed pulled, and another one that got all infected up in the gums. I could feel and see a big bubble of puss in my gums.

So I went to get them pulled and they numbed me all up and when they went to pull the first one it broke it half and talk about gross feeling and hearing it break and each half grinding and crunching...

then the second one hurt like a son of a poop and when it finally came out the puss sprayed all over the inside of my mouth there was that much pressure.

anyway, just wiggle it all around and keep working at it.

or just watch the mover Cast Away with Tom Hanks;)

Kinda of funny how I got rid of the tooth......I was eating late at night when it folded outward..Hurt like a bastard...Took some pain killers and thought about pulling it but I didn't want to sleep with a piece of gauze in my mouth...I was concerned about it falling out while I was asleep and possibly choking to death so I slept on my right side all night...I awoke early the next morning and slightly coughed..The tooth flew out and landed on the bed beside my pillow...It didn't bleed or cause any pain and I immediately felt much better...Next time I'm going to the dentist..

I did this once. Works good with practically no pain. Quick and cheap, too
