As you may know, our beautiful Europe has pretty draconian gun laws, I will have to take a bunch of tests and join a gun club (which I was already planning on doing) and what not, but that's not what this is about.

What type of weapon would you recommend to a beginner ? I'm mainly looking at rifles btw.

I've been looking at remingtons and springfields cause I know them from videogames and just kinda guessed they were high quality.

As you may notice, I have never touched a gun in my life (except for the ones you have at fairs), so I come to you totse, seeing as you guys probably know your guns.

What manufacturers would you recommend ? And what riffles by them would you recommend to a beginner ?

(Btw, I'm also gonna be taking classes and stuff, so don't worry about me being an idiot and blowing my own head off)

Winchester Model 52 and Ruger 10/22 should be your first aims.
Gradually work yourself up to a Remington or Savage bolt action in .308 over the years.
A Mauser M98 in .30-06 should be your ultimate goal.

Well, seeing where you're from, I'd say you'd better represent and get an FN.

Something cambered in .22lr to start to learn good habbits on. Then move up to larger calibers. Though honestly I myself didn't go this way(I jumped right into 8mm mauser), I still recomend it.

Never utter the v-word in W&C.

Start out small and simple, like .22lr. Learn the mechanics of shooting, and how to do it properly, before you move on to a larger caliber.
