So it's just come out that under Bush you guys wantonly and repeatedly violated the sovereignty of several different countries by secret military operations. American troops were used on missions (made legal through American law only in 2004 by a secret decree authorized by Mr. Bush) in Somalia, Syria, Pakistan, and other countries that remain classified.

I wonder if this would have came out if the Republicans won the election?

This really isn't surprising. But it makes sense though. If they declared a war on al-qaida, why would the limit their anti-al al qaida operations to Iraq and Afghanistan?

Not surprising. These sorts of ops were also used by previous administrations. As a matter of fact I recall seeing a special television program concerning one such foray into Egypt during the eighties or nineties.

Oh, and boo-fucking-hoo.

America has been conducting secret operations since they have won independence. This is nothing new. The only difference is that we have 24/h news to report it instead of learning about in on Wikipedia 200 years later.

If only America had kept up to its original isolationist policies. It might now be one of the most loved instead of most hated countries in the world.

dont forget america has totally fucked over the whole of south america by deposing leaders and replacing them with america-friendly dictators. examples - pinochet, who killed tens of thousands of chileans in disgusting ways and tortured many hundreds of thousands more, was put in control and kept in power by the americans after the deposing of allende, one of the most popular leaders chile has ever had, and an anti-american.

Funny shit is everyone talks shit on America, yet how many people have and continue to risk everything to get here! You have to be sneeky in order to take out people like Bin Laden. We wouldn't be in quite the position if it weren't for them bastards. This is the freest country in the world. If you don't like it, GTFO!!!!

The only people who risk everything to get to America are the Cubans, every one else either gets a visa or jumps the border.

Excellent point, also goes for any nation that considers itself a world "power". It's what separates the players from the crowd.

personally, if we're in a foreign country and they want us out sooo badly, fine, we'll leave.. and we won't come back if you need help.

i know.. totally not the american way.

i know we're in their countries for other reasons besides "helping their people gain independence" but damn, why help another country if they don't want it? let them blow each other up, then come back and scrounge for resources.

I'd like to point out to the OP, that this is nothing new. There's no reason for it not to come out - he's already openly violated the sovreignty of his allies and encourage his country's allies to do the same. The only countries whose sovreignties are expected to be respected are the United States and Israel. Maybe the Brits and Aussies, but that's about it.

Please, please, PLEASE understand that this is not the American people's doing.

Everybody got fooled right after 9/11 with the whole "If we don't do something RIGHT NOW WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT, your family will be next!"

Bush comes along during a very chaotic time and says "Well, Iraq did it."

After that, we were too busy trying to keep him from fucking us over.

Blaming every American for what happened in the past 8 years would be like personally blaming every German for the Holocaust.

Look at the polls. America has been wanting to stop cluster-fucking the middle east for years, but the President ignores us.

Why should anyone care about what the rest of the world thinks? They're just butthurt because they aren't baller status. What the fuck are the French or the British going to do, harm us? LOL. We should be more concerned about China and Russia, and the rest of the world should be going nuts over China not the US. It's China that is attempting to colonize Africa. Just run a google search concerning chinese colonies and african slaves, it's fucking disgusting. It's about time we nuked those guys made us a 51st state, not counting Britain.

Agreed. I do believe America was sort of forced to be the "world police".

Then again, it's the best we got, even if it is flawed as fuck.

Politicians who don't like the USA order killings too, what's your point?

If everyone who hated the US (which must include Iraq, Iran, suicide bombers, religious finatics) Afghanistan, et. al. now love us because Obama made president--do you not see the message? When Obama visits Arab countries but not American soldiers? No message? America "fought for our freedom", it is our nature. And whether anyone american or not doesn't like it, Bush did not backdown from the world until he achieved his goal - to get rid of Hussein. In my opinion, Bin Laden is a game, has been for a long, long time--wasn't he involved in the Iran-Contra occasion? Prelude incident to New World Order, it doesn't matter what peons think or care about. Many of you probably don't even remember Viet Nam, but I believe that was the most painful war in the 1900's, what about WWII? War is hell and civilians die, hell thousands die everyday from starvation and other common causes. Bush will go down in history as a great president, bushisms and all.
