Here's how I make my lemonade:

Begin with 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemonade juice. Measure out 3/4 to 1 full cup of sugar; set aside. Bring an amount of water equal to your chosen amount of sugar to boil (about 7/8 cup), then stir in sugar until dissolved. Add four cups of cold water and chill. Stir well before serving.

Anyone else make their own lemonade? How do you do it?

I think you're missing a step.

When do you add in the lemon juice?

:D!
You must have one helluva sweet tooth.

I 'find' myself a heap of lemons, as long as they're not old, and then give them a good hard rogering between any hard flat surface and my palms, cut a slit down them and try to squeeze out about a half liters worth of juice. Yes, that can be a helluvafuckload of lemons if it was a dry year. I know. After that I boil what I worked out is about 4 liters of water in a billy/kettle and then put in a drum and mix only 3 or 4 eating spoons of golden syrup in and stir it thoroughly so it's mixed, then pour it in all manner of washed out bottles and put in a bucket of cold water to cool for a few minutes then throw in the freezer. If you don't have a freezer available, make doubley sure the stopper is air tight then tie a thin rope (i.e. the guiderope for a small tent) around it and submerge it in the nearest body of water.

A cold stream is best, and is also handy for 'refrigerating' your water-tight sealed food so that it stays fresh and animals don't sniff it out and eat it.

I try not to get the seeds in there, but I always do anyway and just leave them in there. If I've got any other citru I like to put them in too, especially limes.

And to Bckpackr, good luck with the Biltong mate. P.S. I'm going to give yours a go as you spoke it, so I need to ask a question: Do you use white, or brown, or black sugar (you know - basically raw, with some molasses still in it)?

Well I've never made it before. I'll be sure to try it after this thread. Looks pretty good.

I just use plain white sugar.

Concerning the sweet tooth comment - maybe a bit. Of course I used to work in a restaurant that served lemonade which was extremely sweet and sour, yet still quite tasty, so my tolerance for both is a little high. :)

Nothing wrong with having something nice and sweet every so often. It won't kill you.

blend lemons or limes with ice, add sugar if you want to be in a sugar coma, but you have to drink it within an hour or two or else itll go sour and no longer good

An empty can of Country Time Lemonade + 8 ounces of bourbon works just as well, too.

Nice punch idea. Although it seems just like a lager shandy with vodka. Maybe add some grapefruit to it?

after looking up "shandy" i have to agree with you. that is exactly what that recipe is.

i will try the grapefruit at our next party, sounds like an excuse to add more vodka to it.

Around here we call that Man Juice or Skippy, the terms are interchangeable.

^ Our party punch consists as follows:

One to two bottles each of Everclear, Triple Sec, and Peach Schnapps -
A few cans of pineapple juice -
Some people add Sprite for fizziness -
And then top it up with enough fruit punch so that the alcohol is hidden -

Oftentimes we'll cut some melon into large chunks and soak it in this "solution" for a few hours before the party gets started, then commemorate the beginning of everyone getting drunk with the addition of the Sprite (add it at the last minute so as to not lose the fizziness).

Some call it Jungle Juice, I call it "panty dropper."

I always thought the most important part of jungle juice was the fruit. Load it up with whatever "fruity" booze was on sale and stuff it full of chopped up whatever fruit was on sale. The juice is good, and the fruit will fuck you up like crazy.
