this is a serious question. i was watching a commercial on the discovery channel about a new show they are coming out with called human mutants. its kind of like a circus freak show.
anyway, they had these conjoined twins and i thought to my self "hmm, i wonder what would happen if one commited a murder?"
google did not help with an answer.
so assuming the other conjoined twin was against the murder and unable to stop it, what would happen to them?
so does anyone know? also i live in the US if that matters.

I reckon they would both go downtown.
But then the jury would ask: The twin that did not approve, would he just stand there and allow it to happen?
The ones with two heads, the left head controls the left side of the body, right head controls right side.
So the left side would have to walk to the guy to help righty kill him, so thus, they would both be going downtown.
Lol, I just had a thought: Donuts, the left leg is walking backwards, right leg is walking forwards.

I think it would depend on who's brain had cognitive control over the body part that did said "murdering"

well i dont know exactly how everything works with conjoined twins, but this is the scenario i had in mind:
hypothetically, lets say the twins are joined at the hip and can not be separated w/ out them both dieing. they are enjoying a trip to the zoo when an asshole kid is all like "hey look at the freaks! hahahahahahahah!!!1!!1" and one twin is all like "lets go home, i want to kill my self." then the other twin is like "no, lets kill him" then the other twin says "no, thats bad i dont want to kill anyone."
also, one twin has no use of his/her limbs because they shriveled up and had to be amputated after she/he was bit by a rattle snake.
on the way out of the zoo the angry twin who wants to kill the boy sees a cop w/ his back turned and begins to proceed toward him. the twin grabs the cops gun and before anyone has time to react blows the asshole kids dads head off and his brains tottally land on the ass hole kid and some of the brains totally get in his mouth and it is gross, then, a split second later the twin kills the kid making it a double homicide.
so one twin was against the killing and had no way to stop it because it happened so fast and stuff and the other twin was obviously intent on killing the kid and shit.
so... what happens next? (assuming they dont straight up kill themselves afterward.)

also:
dont pick apart my story, the gist of it is one twin intentionally murdered someone and it was completely out of the other twins control.
so one is guilty and one is innocent of the crime.

Well since you said don't pick apart the story, because I found so many paradoxes that my ice block just melted.
Anyway, then it'd obviously be the twin's fault who has working limbs, because a kid without (working) arms cannot shoot someone... That shit won't stay in court for longer than 17 seconds.

its not about who did it, its about how the fuck would they prosecute one w/out violating the others constitutional rights?
and if they cant then wtf would happen?
dont say something like "they would cut them apart" because they cant be forced to have life threatening surgery.
i guess totse isnt the best place to ask for good legal advice

You're implying that you are a conjoined twin, or you know someone who is, and they/you committed murder but don't want the other one fucked over.

The twin that committed the act would get a lobotomy.
Of course if they both denied doing the crime no jury could convict because they have the same DNA, finger prints, etc.

There has been no case law regarding it so we would just be throwing guess' at you anyway. You act as if there is some are statutes pertaining to conjoined twin murdering freaks.

As a general rule there usually aren't statutes pertaining to such obscure situations.

I'm supposing that no-one in legal history has ever even considered this a possibility, so you're asking a question to which their is no answer; if a law is not written in the statute books it is down to the presiding judge to interpret the case. In the UK, where the death penalty is illegal (so they can't kill one), and if seperation was not an option, they would most likely set them both free. It seems more repugnant for the state to imprison a person known to be innocent of murder than to allow the murderer to walk free.

What happens if you Murder a conjoined twin?
Double homocide....
Since the second one will have to be removed, and so it's homocide and manslaughter/injuries resulting i death...
"Accessory to murder"
Cute. But really, if the said twin did something to try to prevent the murder-and in no way conspired with the other twin about it-they would not be prosecuted.

How about if you had your zombie kill someone. Is he guilty? As he is already dead.

Alright, let's get to the next part.
Say one of them murdered someone, the other conjoined twin had nothing to do with it.
Legally, what happens to the conjoined twin who was just at the "wrong place wrong time"?
He didn't do anything, all he did was sit there (or hang) and get flopped around while ol' Johhny over here mixes, cuts up and destroys some MILF. If the murderer gets sent to prison, are they gonna have it like on the CatDog episode, Cat is in jail, there is a hole in the wall, Dog is on the other side of the wall eating a ham with a hat on.
