View Full Version : The worst movie you have ever been forced to sit through...

Pretty self-explanatory. What is the worst movie you have seen?
Please, feel free to rant
Most of the terrible movies I have seen were through the comedic eyes of the television show Mystery Science Theater 3000 - the worst of the worst, including Red Zone Cuba, Space Mutiny, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, and other such garbage - which could only be strained through with the quips of my all-time favorite television show.
Regardless, if it's a terrible movie and doesn't seem to be going anywhere, I just turn it off.

I'm gonna go with Armageddon. I've seen many movies that were technically far worse, i.e. Ed Wood's "Glen or Glenda", the MST3K stuff that Bckpckr mentioned (Manos: Hands of Fate standing out in particular), Troll 2, etc. but they're so hilarious and low-budget that I can't really hate them.
Armageddon is just an irredeemable piece of shit. It's everything I hate about Hollywood rolled into one movie. Direction, script, acting, editing, camera work -- all horrible. Endless cliches, explosions, MTV bullshit, and gay unfunny jokes -- making all possible concessions to commercialism on the lowest level of palatable pap. Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler. Pure drudge, and it cost hundreds of millions of dollars to produce. Bruce Willis saves the world by crashing a nuke into an asteroid: the ultimate Michael Bay ending.
I don't often agree with Roger Ebert, but no one could have said it more succinctly: "The movie is an assault on the eyes, the ears, the brain, common sense and the human desire to be entertained." Plus it had that fucking Aerosmith song that was played nonstop in the late '90s.

^ Good choice. Surprisingly enough it didn't win the '98 Raspberry Award for Worst Picture. Thankfully the next year they made the right choice in Wild Wild West, though admittedly I rather enjoyed some of the films in that running: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Big Daddy, and The Blair Witch Project.
Here's a list of all their nominatons and winners for Worst Picture. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razzie_Award_for_Worst_Picture)

I can't believe Showgirls won Worst Picture for '95, it's one of the most psychotically entertaining movies I've ever seen.

Mostly I don't enjoy them, however I found a few worth a watch - Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore, and Mr. Deeds. Most of the rest I can live without, such as Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer, etc.
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
If this ends up being Sean Connery's last movie...
This movie actually started out really good and had the potential to be fucking amazing. I do give it a watch every now and again.

Well thankfully they didn't give that award to Congo, a movie of which I'm an adamant fan - I think it would have been much better received if Jurassic Park had come after, not before.
A Mr. Bean movie.
That being said, this short always makes me laugh, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4cmrMJul1g.

I disliked 2001: A Space Odyssey. I saw it when I was really young, and it just didn't make sense. Is LSD a requirement for it?
My second choice would be Das Boot, the director's cut. Personally, I found it boring, and just annoyingly anti-climactic for a three hour movie. And you have to realize, I'm all for war movies, but it just sucked. Personal preference, you see.

rocky horror picture show
The House of The Dead. Just terrible fucking acting, writing, directing, throwing in shots from the game... It was all fucking bad.
Threads. Had to watch this one in 12th grade english, it's up on google video. I couldn't stop laughing my ass off at the terrible acting and special effects.
Untraceable. Started off alright and had potential to be good, but after a while it just got really fucking shitty and had such a fucking terrible ending.
Twister. 'Nuff said.
I can't think of any more at the moment.

You can't say that with any reasoning? RHPS is a great film. An even better horror-type musical, and my favorite of the genre...
...before Brian de Palma directed Scarface and Carlito's way, there was Phantom of the Paradise.
That movie is so fucking win.

Honestly, a group of friends offered to go see it (300), but I just couldn't bear the trailers online. Historical innacuracy at its worst; makes Gladiator look like a fucking documentary..

That it fucking was, I'd nearly forgotten about it. I tried watching it when I was high (because I've heard it was so bad and thought it'd make it better), didn't even make it a 3rd of the way through the fucker.

Maybe because it was based off of a comic book which was based off of a real event?
300 never pretended to be historically accurate at all; it might as well have been pure fiction.

I hate when people say this - it was never advertised as a documentary. They did take some from history, but it never says it's a documentary.
Meet the Spartans was terrible. I don't like that genre of movie, but this one was particularly terrible.
Red Line; Holy fucking shit that movie was horrible. Shitty actors, shitty movies.
The Golden Compass: Half the movie did not make sense and it did not explain a ton of shit.

I Am Legend and Cloverfield. Now, I might get shit on for say that, but to me, those movies really sucked bad. I Am Legend was just boring and I had to force myself to stay away through it. Now I had no plans on ever seeing it, but my bf wanted to so I was nice and went. Big mistake there so I'm glad I didn't pay for it. Cloverfield was another that I had no interest in seeing, but again, bf wanted to so I went and yawned the entire time. I didn't find it fast paced, exciting or anything at all. I just wanted the damn thing to be over and that didn't happen soon enough.
Going to add The Happening here too, but do I really need to explain that one?
Oh, and The Wall. Not a Pink Floyd fan so you can get why I suffered.
And House of 1000 Corpses. The only part of that movie I found somewhat entertaining was if you just let it go before you hit play and that clown guy keeps talking to you.
Unbreakable as well. That movie is and will remain at the top of my most hated movie list for all time.
I'm also going to stick my neck out and say Pulp Fiction, but let me explain before all the what ever starts. Now I'm not sure if I suffered because I thought it was a bad movie or because I didn't watch it all in one sitting. I put it in, hit play, was all ready to go and watch it, but kept having to pause it to do other things around the house. I always said I was going to give it another shot and try watching it straight through, but as for right now, I suffered. Can't really think of anymore at the moment, but I know there's more. Odd enough, all those movies except for Unbreakable, I watched cause my bf thought I would like them. Go figure.
LOTR was very very very dull

Yes, yes they were, but the second and third had their moments. First one though, oh god. Sitting through that was like getting your finger nails ripped out one by one.

If instead of the walking scenes they just had action with a few minutes of talking between, it'd be a lot better.

I agree, but for some reason, that made me think of some guy just running out right in the middle of a conversation between Frodo and Sam and whacking Frodo upside the head with a board before running away laughing. It would of made it a little funny and a tad exciting all at the same time. :)

Reminds me of a Brian Posehn joke about the Passion of The Christ:
"Half way through the Jesus beating they should pan over to a shot of a fat kid eating a candybar and saying "I need this for energy", then straight back to the Jesus beating"

Either Bloodrayne, Halloween 3 or 3 Children and It.
Bloodrayne was fuckin terrible with the orange blood and ridiculous over-acting. Sorry, no thanks.
Michael Madsen took a huge fall in my personal ratings. And, jesus, the fuckin camera made everything look like a shoddy set.
Halloween 3. Where the fuck was Michael Myers... And the "3 more days til Halloween, Halloween, Halloween." Get the fuck off my fuckin telly before i break it.
Last one was the worst heap of steaming pigshit ever to have been made. Had to take my younger brother and even he said it was garbage. Also Eddie Izzard is annoying as a person, so imagine him voicing a piece of shit little magic elf thing. Bullshit...
Also the end of No Country for Old Men pissed me off...

Snakes on a Train is not the sequel it came out before Snakes on a Plane and has nothing to do with it.
Snakes on a Train was not made by the same people, and tries to be a serious horror film.

That last fuckin Superman movie, the one with Parker Posey and Kevin Whatisname. My Mom was in the throes of alzheimers and it was summer time in Mohave Desert. So we went to the movies. Mom was lucky, she fell asleep. I had to endure the endless bullshit. Plus theater was packed, so lots of noisey kids and other bothersome fucks talking on their cells.
