My friend was wondering how much he could sell his mac 90 for? He's googled the shit out of it and nothing really came up. And he was also wondering if its true that the weapon would be fully automatic by sawing off that little piece. is that true?

That's probably because there is no such thing as a Mac 90. If it's an AK, it's a MAK 90. If it's a handgun, it's probably a Mac-9.
Since it's probably the MAK-90, value is between $400-500 for the ordinary stamped variation and $600-800 for the milled variation.
Those prices are currently subject to change considering the street price of AKs rose about 10-20% percent overnight after the election in case you didn't know.
As for the thing about making it full auto, no, without adding an auto sear, there is no safe way of converting it to full auto. If you like guns exploding in your face, be my guest. The first time it fires out of battery you'll change your mind.

The sear could be filed down if you new what you are doing but it is not worth the possible 10 years in federal pen and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
And if you filed the wrong part of the sear you may just ruin the trigger.
If you are going to illegally modify the weapon you wont want to be selling it or atleast have a brand new semiauto trigger to swap back in before you sell it.You will not be able to legally modify it to full auto without a tax stamp and permission from the BATF and that requires the rifles receiver to be made before 1986. And for questions like that refer to uncle bobs thread. Seriously though it is not worth it.
And i have seen Norinco mak-90s(used) for 400-700$ depending on the condition and how much the gunshop owner paid for it. The 700$ one may have just had a lot of mark up from that specific dealer.

I've seen a hammer retard piece for the full auto AK's somewhere...

This. Unless you are going to keep it at home in a rural area (never to the range or with people you don't trust) keep a semi-auto group handy.

Either way, in my opinion, it is not worth the legal consequences to do it to the weapon.
Also, the thing abouit the ak is that the parts are riveted. So it is not like swapping a trigger on the ar15, you have to drill out the rivets and then rerivet it with hardend rivets, which is not exactly easy, once again in my opinnion.

No, that cannot be installed into a semi-auto receiver. A receiver which has been drilled for an auto sear is a machine gun.

That and with the third hole drilled for the autosear they know you have turned it into an automatic in the past. They define the full-auto receiver by wether that third hole has been drilled, if you convert it you can never let those you don't trust see the receiver again.
EDIT: I see exothermia beat me to it.

I'm closing this. Your friend needs to know what firearm he has before he can look up pricing. It's like selling a car. I won't have a clue how much to sell a Honta D'accord for, but if I know I was selling a Honda Accord, I could get a price range.
Also, "that little piece" doesn't tell us anything, really. Although it's already been covered, don't say things like that. It makes you look stupid because you're not communicating efficiently. It's easy to assume that because you are not, you are unable, and that implies incompetence.
