http://www.shakeout.org/
is a ploy by the new US Communist Cabal to put citizens in the mindset that they will soon be in an emergency situation.
But why only Southern California? Because it is subject to earthquakes, and the "drill" can take the guise of being solely for that purpose. That way, the locals don't get all freaked out about "why are they all of a sudden having us do 'terror attack" drills' or some such thing?"
So, the Iranians, unimpressed with our choice of president, deploy a dirty nuke in LA sometime within the next six months. The "earthquake drill" is still fresh on everyone's mind, and they respond accordingly.
Discuss.

I have never really found out.
Is it possible to let off a Nuclear bomb on the other side of the planet so that the shock waves converge on the Californian fault line & set off a Earthquake.
How much notice would you get if it was?
------------
After googling it, I found out that idea was the storyline behind a 'SuperMan' movie...
But I didn't find an answer.

Interesting discussion here (http://www.futurepundit.com/archives/002552.html)about intentional earthquakes. It's a few years old, and one guy mentions a book by Michael Crichton about a group of terrorists who do this very thing.
And now Michael Crichton is dead. COINCIDENCE?!?

Also m.c. Died in la which really freaks me out
so the book is based in la
he dies in la
and they now have earthquake drills for terrorist attacks...
Omg have fun
and while u at at it have a cop beat an African to start a riot.
not really, just be careful!
Somthing terrible walks this way.:p

"Falling Down." Good movie. Right up until he kills the Nazi.
So, I've been giving this some more thought, and the voices in my head have more or less convinced me that this is going to happen in the first year of Obama's administration.
He needs a 9/11, but one that a) keeps him in power and b) he can't be blamed for.
What better scenario than a natural disaster? There's no one to blame, because earthquakes are nobody's fault (pun intended), and are more or less unpredictable.
They are also the only natural disaster that can be initiated by man. Here's how I see it playing out:
1) Rahm Emanuel uses his father's contacts with Israeli terrorists to acquire a nuke. Or, we just use one from the US stockpile.
2) Troops, FEMA resources, etc are positioned strategically so as to be able to respond expediently to affected areas. This is done, as with 9/11, under the guise of "training exercises."
3) The nuke is detonated, and half of LA crumbles. There are also a few buildings detonated to cover up records of existing govt. crimes, bury bodies, etc(again, just like 9/11).
4) Obama takes immediate, decisive charge of the situaiton, swooping in to rescue all of his commie faggot friends in California (except for the select few of his allies who "happened" to be out of the area that day; those who couldn't be risked in the carnage).
5) the rescue squads are moved in so quickly that there is no time for the masses to loot or riot effectively, so any uprisings among the sepia populace are quelled, and the media keeps a lid on that aspect of it, as always (as with Hurricane Katrina).
6) The emergency is contained, the press piss themselves praising him, and the Obama regime basks in the glory of a job well done: a few thousand dead, a few secrets buried forever beneath the rubble, and a foolproof shot in the arm for the administration.
Bonus: since the incident was not caused by terrorists, there is no need for sabre-rattling. Since the state of the environment didn't play a factor, there will be no grumblings from that lobby.
So, you know, if you live in that area...better be ready.

Except that earthquakes don't release massive amounts of radiation. Because it will take a few days for the idea to filter through your tinfoil hat addled brain I'll do your thinking for you, you'll say that the government would cover up by saying the earthquake either damaged a reactor/nuclear waste storage facility or that it damaged a nuclear bomb causing the innards to be released.
I would then respond saying that the isotopes released by a nuke are very different from either of these scenarios (if you can pre-emptively plan conspiracies then I can pre-emptively debunk)
To the OP. The response to a dirty bomb is very different to that for an earthquake. After an earthquake the priority is to get things stabilised. After a dirty bomb the priority is to get the fuck out of there.

I would also like to note that Obama is being told to prepare for a terrorist threat (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article5158569.ece) because of the apparent vulnerability of the U.S. during the transition of the U.S. presidency.

Okay, since you've clearly chosen the wine in front of me, how about this?
Six months after it goes down, Phineas Q. Smartfuck will release a report, saying that the isotopes are different, and implying that a nuke was set off, etc etc. He will be branded a nutcase and forgotten, or will "mysteriously" disappear or die.
The "facts" behind the incident will be as buried and forgotten as Chandra Levy. The average retards can't or won't listen or understand to a complex, scientific explanation when their masters tell them "Just keep quiet and compliant, and we'll continue bringing you fast food and cartoons."
Then, five years later, when cancer starts killing off 60% of the area's population, it will be attributed to something else (something that was Bush or Arnie's fault, and the obedient little Obamites will swallow what their masters give them.
Oh, and I'm also the OP. Read a thread before you start sounding off, newbitch.

Sorry about the OP mixup. I guess I've been on the chans and away from here for too long.
Fact is that there are devices monitoring radiation levels worldwide. If a detector squawks then you can bet your ass that there will be several research teams who will start grabbing samples from collection stations (even more so if someone alleges that a nuke has gone off).
You've also got the problem of the seismic signature. This would show that the epicentre was near ground level and far weaker than the earthquake and satellite photography would show no slip in the San Andreas Fault.
If you're going to cover up/covertly prepare people for a dirty bomb calling it an earthquake is a lousy way to do it.

So what you're saying is that the plan to detonate a large (if not nuclear) bomb underground in just the right spot in order to start an earthquake, thereby instigating a false flag emergency situation, the real purpose of which is to make it look like you have your shit way more together than your predecessors, has large, gaping flaws in it that people of average intelligence would be able to spot.
Okay, we're back in agreement.
However, my assessmentof the less-than-average intelligence of most of the American public stands, Professor S. They really, really won't care how much sense the truth makes, they will believe (or at least accept with a little grumbling, but nothing close to revolution) what the gubmint tells 'em.
Your arguments are well-thought-out, rational and presented in a clear, easy-to-understand fashion. So, you know, be ready for a visit from the black helicopter guys. You have become a threat to the establishment.
Whereas I just come off looking like a loony. Ha!

Nope, I'm saying that it's an earthquake drill because earthquakes are common in that area.
You can't trigger an earthquake with any amount of explosive and get away with it because it's impossible to know where a slip will start (I think you've watched A View To A Kill too many times) and also you'd see an extra seismic signature, quite separate from that caused by a slip. This isn't like some nut job misinterpreting seismic data from a tower falling down, it would be quite obvious.
On any other board I'd assume you're a troll but, given our location, it wouldn't surprise me if you actually believed that.

Christopher Walken was awesome in that movie.
