So guys, I got the red ring (about 2 and a half weeks ago). I mailed it in on halloween, and when gears came out, brought my HDD and gears to my friends, where we played. We got on live with no problems (that was last weeked) and than on that lovely friday, i got the xbox mailed back(or alteast AN xbox.) Anyway, Starting friday night xbox live would disconnect me every few games, it getting closer and closer to 12 o clock, the more frequent it happened (i believe). This wasn't just me though, my friends also had some problems, so i tried switching over to Halo 3 for awhile, and voila, it worked. I played about 3 or 4 games, than went to Gears again.

The problem stayed the same, until the next day, when it was a lot worse. (This was yesterday). I don't know why, but every 5 or so minutes it disconnects me, and when i'm connected i don't get to send messages, or get messages, and than when i'm somewhat close to doing something on xbox live, i get disconnected. I only managed to get into a party of 2 of my friends once, since saturday morning. Is this a general Xbox LIVE thing, because fo the new experience? or is this somethign to do with how my xbox was shipped back, or even my HDD.

Please help Totse, this is extremely annoying.

that would have nothing to do with your console or your hdd... people have been having tons of problems with gow2 online and seeing as it works with halo, id assume the gears live experience may be the issue...

The only reason i would have maybe understood that it had to do with my console would be that it worked on my friends, so my gamertag (for whatever reason) could have been corrupt, or maybe the ethernet port in the back wasn't connecting right, or something. So this is pretty much a general live problem? I did try halo again last night and it kept saying "retreiving information from xbox live" or something like it.
