http://supertarot.co.uk/major/tarotmagic.php I came across the site above which has some information about how to go about this but I am new to using tarot cards and do not understand if I need to buy a special deck to do these spells. Any opinions or insights?

My wife has been doing readings profesionally for over thirty years, and I have for twenty. We have maybe two dozen different decks between us--she usually uses the Thoth deck or the Aquarian deck, I use the Robin Wood deck. Neither of us likes the Rider-Waite.
No one deck is "better" than any other, it is just a matter of what resonates with you.
My advice would be, go to a metaphysical shop, check out some different decks, go with what "feels" right.

Isn't the Robin-Wood deck a clone of the Rider-Waite? The only major difference I can think of is the Devil.
The Robin-Wood deck is beautiful though, and the Rider-Waite is kind of boring.
I agree with Arms though, you need to find a Deck that resonates well with you. However, if you are new to tarot you might want to start with a simple deck such as a Rider-Waite, and avoid a deck with complex symbolism like the Thoth deck.
This (http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/) website has images from hundreds of decks as well as reviews of them. You might find it use full while trying to find a deck you like. You can also buy decks off of websites like amazon if you can't find anything local.
You might also find something like Rune magic a lot simpler, but I admittedly don't have experience with either.

The first deck I bought was chosen purely because it was available at a major chain and was very inexpensive. Honestly, it wasn't a good deck, but it helped me to learn the basics before focusing on more complex details, which isn't a bad thing.
The site benpari posted is a great site you could spend browsing for a long time. Personally I really like the Druidcraft and Robin Wood decks.

All Tarot decks have pretty much the same Major and Minor Arcana, but there are some differences in style, tone, and small details of symbolism.
