Tell me about it and such.

I haven't talked to a recruiter yet because I'm only a junior in highschool.

I'm not so sure, but I think the coast guard's MAIN focus is on illegal drug trafficking, as well as seaborne illegal immigration. They also have a HUGE thing when it comes to coastline disasters, such as downed oil tankers, rescuing survivors of capsized boats, and basically everything between land an international water.

That's my take on it, anyway. :]

If you like drinking on a boat and yelling at cubans it's probably the job for you.

If that was the case I think we'd all join the coast guard. :D

I'm twenty years of age and also considering joining the Coast Guard. As soon as I drop some weight I'm going to talk to a recruiter about such - if they'll let me in on account of my horrible dental condition and slight case of astigmatism (left eye vision 20/25, right eye 20/30 uncorrected) then "ThunderCats are GO!"

As long as your vision can be corrected with glasses or contacts, you're fine. Dental condition? Whoo, I know some people in who have some really bad teeth that are in. I mean jeez, the dental services are 100% free, I dont see why they choose not to get their damn teeth fixed. Lazy dirtbags.
