Is this going to change any time soon?

Not really and it doesn't seem like anything worthwhile is coming out. This is the reason why I sold my wii almost a year ago.

I'm looking to buy a wii. if anyone wants to give me a good deal on one in michigan i would pick it up.

agree. everything thats come out in the last 2 months is utter shit.

Good games were twilight princess (probably best game on wii) metroid prime 3 was pretty fun. Mario galaxy was decent, wasnt too big on that though. and resident evil. Skate it doesnt seem bad but just stupid. The balance board is used to turn and thats it.

Everything else pretty much sucks, alot, and nintendo does need to pull their head out of their asse and stop making fucking reality games. Since when are video games supposed to be THAT FUCKING REAL?! I ply video games to escape reality for a few hours. I dont need to buy a game to loose weight, i can go to the gym for that.

the question now is, what mario game should i buy from the virtual store?

What a great list too, because it's not just a bunch of shooters, in fact every last one of those games is quite different from the other and they're all Wii exclusives. Also, those are only games I'm personally interested in, there's a few more than don't strike my fancy. The Wii definitely had an incredibly poor second half of 08, but there's a lot of good stuff just on the horizon, and to claim there isn't is just retarded. If you can't find at least a couple games to be excited about in that list, then you're just not a gamer.

As for a Virtual Console game, I'd go with Sin and Punishment, Super Mario RPG, Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, or Super Mario Bros. 3.

So, is there a reason they haven't made a game for the Wii, in which there are realistic physics, and the rotation/position of your controller ALWAYS represents the EXACT rotation/position of a sword you're holding? Because if they did that it would be awesome just to hit things around.

From what I've heard it's mostly gesture based and there isn't that kind of precision though.

Nope, I wrote them all out by hand, because they're all games I'm interested in. I'm sure a couple might not live up to my expectations, but I know most of them will.

And Muramasa looks fucking awesome. It's one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, from the creators of Odin Sphere, and I have very high hopes for it. It looks like something from the SNES era? Because it's 2D? Honestly, I feel sorry for someone who would write off good games just because they're 2D.

They are releasing a new wii-mote that does that. Has exact duplication of your movements. Of course one of the first games for it will be a fencing game.

I think it's still in development, or at least I heard rumors about it. Also, I can't fucking wait for Madworld. No more heroes 2 better have better vehicular control.

I own a PS3 and a Wii, myself; while I play my PS3 more, I treat both consoles equally.

it's funny that between the most powerful console and the least powerful console, which one sells the most and which one sells the least. the wii has really gone to show alot. I mean, sure...it's heavily aimed toward children, but you have to admit...Nintendo's first party games are pure gold and make the console worth the investment, and the waits.

I mean, look at 360...it's recently gained some acceptance in japan by winning over some (rather shitty) JRPGs; now who do they have left? children...their technique? Madagascar 2: The video game. this is a 3rd party title, that's really not that exciting to begin with. the Wii is a tremondous success, thanks to children. but it's fun for all ages. it hits every demographic. I'm sorry; I'll play Super Mario Galaxy, Wii Sports, this and that...but I'm just not hyped for Madagascar 2. especially not enough to spend over $300 so some damn kid could play it. and if I was, I'd probably just get it for the Wii. what does this go to show? it's not the console. it's the games.

if you want an endless wave of new and promising games this console genoration, you'll want not only a Wii, but a PS3 or 360 to accompny it. that's just how it is. but when Mad World and Sadness (which IS still in the works, by the way) come out, you know damn well I'm dusting off my Wii.

I have been thinking of buying a Nintendo Wii purely for the Clone Wars game. It would be so fucking sweet to dual with a lightsabre!

Other than that, I am worried that I'll be stuck with a bunch of weird Nintendo games. I have never been a fan of Nintendo consoles since the Gameboy. Gay-looking Jap graphics and annoying sound effects that stick in your mind for 17 years!

I was looking for the Sadness thread I remembered, and upon finding it I saw that you weren't really 'hyping' it per say. I noticed that thread, and I was genuinely curious as to how things went... and instead of coming outright and asking I posed it in sort of a mocking manner.
