What are your impressions of the New Xbox Experience?
I just downloaded it a few minutes ago and am kinda surprised at the deep feel that the menu system has, they've taken a little bit from DiRT's fantastic menu system I rekon. It's going to take a little while to get used to the new blades though.
I am currently writing up all my thoughts on it, but have to go out to dinner so won't be able to post that until I get back.
I like it and think it's a solid improvement. When I get back home I will be available to test it deeper, and also discover things I may dislike. But for now, adios.
In the meantime, say what you think. Hate or love as much as you want aye.

a friend of mine is an XBL die-hard, with a critically open mind; his opinion was "eh, it's alright...".
if you're among the millions of wii owners, you shouldn't be all that impressed.
I was watching my boyfriend play it
it's pretty cool
but the avatar thing is a shameless wii rip off
although somewhat better
but uno? why would someone pay to play that ^o)

Yeah it's pretty decent but Microsoft just copied the wii with the avatars, it's ok but i do like the party room that is pretty sweet. Otherwise it's just a shitty rip-off off the wii to try and make the 360 more "family orientated", also why should we be forced into downloading it.

Seems a bit quicker to load menus, so it's good. The avatars don't do much for me.

Is there a limit to how many times a game can be installed on a hard drive?
Nevermind. I was seeing if me and my friends could install on each other's 360s but that's a no. If you have to have the disk in the xbox anyways then installing is a complete waste of time.

Why would u wanna install the game more than once on a hard drive, trust me man it's not worth it, i remember reading somewhere each game uses up like 6GB's that's not really worth it, just so the loading screen can load 2 seconds faster.

The only real thing I enjoy is the faster screen menue. Its much faster. The netflix feature is pretty nice, except you can only add to your que from a computer. Otherwise I think its an improvement overall.
I think its ok, it took me about 5 minutes to find that redeem code thing. But its faster so thats good.

That's fucking retarded, why would you want to keep the disk in and waste 6gb of hard drive space?

Some people, usually myself included, only buy 1 game and play that game until completion, and then buy/start a new one.
This would be useful if someone like that wants faster load times, or has a larger harddrive and can store all the game s/he is playing.

The male avatars are flamboyantly homosexual. I'm currently sporting pigtails.

I was wondering if the games could be installed multiple times or if there was a limit to the number of times they can be installed. That way I could install all my games on my friends xbox and install all of his on mine. Get it?
It doesn't work anyways.

Wow, thats gay you can't install the discs on more than one xbox. I wonder how they even made that possible or how you can get around it. I like the NXE I guess even though its a bit late considering you think they could have updated it a LONG time ago. Don't like the avatars at all. The download to hard drive is nice, would be nicer if they made a bigger h/d though.

shut up new arrival. ( Yeah kinda just have to do it, no harsh feelings)
But yeah the 20GB hd that used to come with it is pretty much obsolete. When you buy the Pro you get a 60GB HDD now and the Elite has a 120GB. If you choose to buy the Elite, M$ doesnt even sell the fucking transfer kit anymore, so if you want to play any of your old games on your elite, continuing a campaign or some sort of save data that is, you will need to start a new one. Why M$ fucking did this? Because it made it easier to hack your xbox and run "backed up" games. Or some bullshit like that.
Its really pointless the whole save disk to hard drive bull crap, big deal make your game load 2 seconds faster we dont need that its a waste of space, but for once, not time :p. The avatar thing is a wii exclusive fucking rip off, and the menu is like that of the PSP/PS3. It does move faster, and the xbox itself is more quiet. But on another completely different side note....
What the fuck is the 3rd xbox gonna be? Alot of people are saying Xbox 720, but that sounds legitimately fucking retarded.

As for not including the transfer cable, they likely think you've upgraded once already and already have the transfer cable - likely from a RROD or upgrading by choice.
As for the next system name,if they go with a number (which I'm guessing they won't), they'd likely go with 1080. Maybe representing 1080p (unless they have something better by then), maybe because it's their third "revolution" in gaming.
It sounds stupid - but if I told you when the original xbox just came out that the next would be called the 360, you likely wouldn't have believed it.

Anyone say that it is the ps3 menu yet? I'm too lazy to read through the thread. Either way- it's the ps3 menu. And have fun with your Miis.

The avatars rip off Wii's 'Mii' characters.
I tried to play GTAIV online for the first time in months last night, and I had to wait for an hour for all that stupid shit to download.

Oh, well, I'm in Virginia. So there's the reason.
I must admit, the "Morning Suit" for the avatars is pretty sweet.

Ugh, all your posts either diss xbox360, or praise PS3 like it's allah itself.
At least xbox firmware doesn't destroy consoles (if you want proof, here is a PS focussed site, so it should even be biased in your favour: http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/3548.html).
As for the NxE (nXe ? Whatever) thing, I haven't checked it out yet, might go do that just now, can you still use the old view as well ? Cause I hate getting used to a bunch of new menus.

You can install as many games as u want but it'll use up a shitload of HD space and why would u do that just so u can get "faster loading times" woah and yeah i get it bitch.
