I got ripped off and bought 100 windows xp professional. They work just fine except they wont pass the genuine software validation so what you have to do is make sure to do custom install w/ the updates and delete that update and everything will work just fine. What is the best way to get sell these w/ out getting into to trouble with the law? Thanks for any help

The best way? Scratch them to all hell and sell them as coasters.

Selling pirated software is a worse situation than downloading or uploading, since profit is involved. You can go to prison for commercial copyright infringement.

OTOH, you could turn in the person who sold the copies to you. MS used to reward those who turned in counterfeiters with genuine copies, although now that XP is off the market they might not honor that anymore. If they do it'd probably be Vista Home Basic that they'd send you (or old XP Pro surplus).

It's probably in your best interests to tell Microsoft about the person who sold them to you.

I wouldn't sell any illegal software for money, especially Microsoft of all companies.

I see this got sent here from T&T. It doesn't belong, and I don't want to move it to NiMF, so I'm closing it -- it's already been answered twice (contact MS and turn in whoever sold it to you).
