I've seen some episodes here and there from various seasons, but it always felt like cliffhanger after cliffhanger, and it never led anywhere. I want to start watching it, but I'm curious if it's worth the hassle of downloading.

According to my best friend it's a MIND FUCK!

Not kidding, like you i am stuck at downloading it.
i only need season1 and the rest of seasons i can get from my bro.

But i have to watch it, it's a must for me.

As soon as i am done with Dexter, X-files S7, How I Met your Mother, Big Bang Theory and Fringe. I will start watching it from Season 1.

I didn't include my Anime list ;).

I really liked the first season but they definitely have a habit of introducing a plot line and either never resolving it or not bringing it up again for several episodes.
As the show went on more I thought it just started getting ridiculous and stopped watching.

I sort of liked the first serie, didn't like the second one too much and never bothered with the third.

Pretty much the same. I realised I either just couldn't be bothered to download or wasn't even looking forward to the next episode. I do have season 1&2 somewhere around here though, I might watch it again and try to get back in, I've no idea what's been going on or even how far the show's gone, in regards to amount of seasons/episodes.

EDIT: I probably will get back into it now that I've finished watching the Sopranos, which is practically all I watched for a good few weeks, I even forgot about dexter for a few eps, and didn't give a shit about Heroes.

yeah its generally agreed that the first season is pretty good, the 2nd and 3rd being kind of a drag and the 4th picking up pretty well

Its an okay show...you'll have to watch all the seasons to try to get a grasp at what is going on in it.

It seems like the show had potential and then they make it more and more ridiculous.

Regardless, I'm going to watch it to the end at this point.

No. God no. I don't even know where to start with Lost:

The dialogue is some of the worst on tv, making all the characters seem like melodramatic nitwits. The writers are incapable of developing their (solid) core of characters so they just drown you in meaningless twists and subplots that go nowhere. Characters are introduced, made to seem like they hold some significance, then are simply killed off never to be spoken of again.

It had a pretty great pilot, about a bazillion dollars behind it, and an ok formula with the whole 'X-Files+Twin Peaks/Gilligans' Island = Lost', but trust me, J.J Abrams is a hack and you will only end being angry for wasting your time.

For those seeking a sci fi/supernatural series from someone who knows what they're doing, watch chris carters' Millennium. Featuring lance henrikksen and terry o'quinn (Locke), think X-Files only darker and with no aliens. Check it out, you won't regret it.

I'm sold on Millenium. Don't know why you brought it up in this thread, haha, but it sounds good.

As for Lost: I watched the first 3 episodes tonight...can't say I'm hooked (which is what I'd expect, given all the hype), though it's not bad.

That opinion is shared by many critics.

I never saw the show myself--never saw American Idol, either. I doubt I missed anything important.

I tried watching it, but I didn't seem to like it as much as I expected. Same thing happened with prison break, the first two seasons were pretty cool, but then it began repeating things and I stopped watching it for a while.

On the other hand, I've been watching Heroes nonstop.

I tried watching the first season of Lost. If that is the "good" version of Lost, I'd hate to see how far it's gone downhill. It's mindless pop entertainment for a mindless pop culture. Save yourself the IQ points and read a book instead.

I loved the first season of lost, the beginning of the second season was terrible but it started to pick up again and get better until it dropped again in season 3 then improved a lot in season 4

This. For the most part at least.

I think it's a mind fuck, in a good way, but if you miss a single episode you're screwed.

the first time i watched lost i was stoned out of my mind. now i'm hooked up on that and can't wait for the new season to air. if you're an impatient person you'll most likely hate lost.

no sorry. at first glance it seems like a provocative deep show with some sort of meaning that applies to modern society, but you look deeper and the creators don't even have a direction for the show, they go episode by episode, week by week based on ratings..
