View Full Version : So, I just rebuilt my music library.

I deleted every song I had in my iTunes (around 20gigs or so) and borrowed a bunch of CDs from friends and relatives to rebuild my library. Among those I picked up The Smiths, Ministry, Modest Mouse, Skindred and The Chemical Brothers. Yes, I am aware that The Smiths and Ministry (example) don't exactly "match up" as bands the same person listens to, but I think that no one should be tied down to one genre of music and that's the reason I deleted it in the first place.

So, anyone want to recommend me some music I should get into?

If you haven't heard of them, Orange Goblin aren't bad. I like their stuff up to the album The Big Black, after that their sound changed a bit and I'm not a fan of it. I'd say they're stoner rock/metal.

80's Matchbox is a good one, but I wouldn't really call them psychobilly.

Check out Zappa/Mothers, Porcupine Tree, Laghonia, Buena Vista Social Club, A Tribe Called Quest, etc..

I hate anything to do with rockabilly almost as much as I hate anime.

And I hate anime almost as much as I hate north korea. Now, if you knew me, you would know how much I really hate North Korea.

But seriously, get everything by the Beatles. Every music library must have everything by the Beatles to be valid.

Beefheart wise,

Everyone talks about the album "Trout Mask Replica." It's a great album, but I also suggest "Strictly Personal" and "Safe as Milk," which are both great, just slightly less experimental.

Why the fuck would you delete all your music? There's no reason to 'rebuild' your music library, only to expand it; unless, for some reason, you had thousands of songs you hate stored on your computer.

No, I know him IRL. He posted that to piss me off because its most of the music I hate, with the exceptions of Floyd, Bela Fleck, ELP and Maiden.

Go back to listening your scremo faggot nonsense.

Also, thanks for the psychobilly bands mentioned in this thread :D
