What made Eminem different is that he didn't rap about alleged luxuries, he rapped about shit that people could actually relate to, not pine for. he had a very down-to-earth style, with a hysterically humorous twist; it's hard to say whether he outright exploited himself or didn't at all. it was just a very fresh and new thing. and not only among white guys, but rap in it's entirety.

i dont listen to eminem much but when i used to i liked the sample he has in that song, even though he didnt produce it, hes better then the other mainstream rap he has good beats but not as good as other undergroud shit out there.

everyone who doubts eminem should listen to the Infinite LP. he's not what he used to be, but that doesnt mean he doesnt have skill. money changes everything, and artists change over time, its just what happens.

Infinite sounds terrible. The rhymes are decent but it was produced in a basement. It's just too low quality to listen to more than once or twice.

Eminem was fucking awesome from 99-03 though. Slim Shady LP was really good, Marshall Mathers LP is a classic, Eminem Show was ok. Then he dropped Encore and he hasn't been the same since.

Career wise a lot of dudes are better than him but in his prime Eminem made better music than almost any rapper ever. Probably top 10 all time...I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with that and list a bunch of bullshit underground rappers to look like some kinda hip hop genius, but fuck them.
