Dream of the iris

“If you don't know what you are on all levels, and have no clue what you are standing up for or against, then sit down. Does the farmer care if the cattle get together and moo at him in a group, shouting that the pen is theirs and not his, and that he doesn't own them? Who is justified and what the hell are the cattle thinking? Do they really want to stand up and claim the pen of their imprisonment and holding until demise as theirs? Do you want to fight to keep the walls that contain you? Is that what the struggle and shouting is all about? Is it necessary? If they don't own you, then prove it and walk. Unplug and start living. A cow standing up in a pen to say he is free is a jack ass.”
Looking around today and really noticing people, I could sense something very common and disturbing among many. Their words, their actions, their selves are full of emotion and much of what is said is backed by fear. I see so much fear in people’s eyes, they look so lost. That’s not saying I’m not lost or fearful, I am and I admit that. But I recognize something within me it’s there tugging at me, saying, “Let me out!”, but as a wise man once said “Look at that faded spirit that longs to act in this world, but cannot because the mind is fearful and sets boundaries everywhere”. No excuses, though.
Moments of clarity followed by moments of darkness. Clarity feels like this. Vast space. Vast empty space all around. Joy and peace like I’ve never experienced fill me and I see things with such clarity. It is in these moments that truly sadden me. Because while this exist for the taking, I don’t see anyone else taking it. It’s like the stars up above. Nobody really notices it, but when you do, your reality is changed ever so slightly just by glancing up wards on a clear night. So driving down the road, watching other people lost in something, it saddens me almost to the point of tears. People don’t realize how beautiful they truly are… And that is the greatest sin man has ever faced. The lack of realization to the “God” in everyone, the Christ within, the Buddha, the whatever, it’s YOU. WE don’t realize what is inside ourselves. We can't see what WE are.
When people tell you to “wake up” what do they mean? They mean look around and see the control? Yes, but what good would that do? You see control, great. Are you living free? Do you know what freedom is? To wake up is to be aware. But again awareness also includes awareness of all yourSelves. Everything that is you. Going back to the original quote, how can you be sure what you are standing up for when you don't even know who YOU are and what is true freedom? We have freedom of expression, but not all can express. We have freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom of this, but really what good is that when you live controlled so that quite literally your soul is crushed into submission by age 30. But all these are really just words. Nothing more. Everything is just that. Signposts, guides. Meaningless unless you live it. And there is no “proof” like living something. Whatever that may be. Freedom, love, light, peace, whatever. Live it.
If you are free, live it. If you are peaceful, live that. If you are “enlightened”, live that. Don’t say and not live. That’s worse then doing nothing. Well, just as bad anyway. It is painfully clear that not many people experience these things. Not many people will in this lifetime and I do believe in reincarnation. I believe that we are on our paths, whatever that may be and for some the time is not ready to release control. To become free. To the more spiritual, “Enlightened”. Some need control. This is becoming more and more obvious. And there is nothing harder then to watch others being controlled and not being able to do anything. And what can be done?
I could say, “Hey man, you know your being controlled right? That ego you love so much, it’s a prison, man”. But that’s not good. Nobody likes the preacher man and for good reason. It’s about space. Letting others live. They will figure it out. The info is out there, the Spirit is there driving those who are willing to listen and you are there, so all that’s left is for you to listen. It’s always been there. The only thing that’s missing is the will of the individual and no amount of preaching and teaching will give you that. Everything you needed to know you can find within. Many a master has written books and books and books, but we are still not free? Jesus died and we are still not free. He is coming back, though right? But why? Why should he come back again? What good will that do? So we can follow again and be lead? Daddy knows best. Save me, daddy! Tell me what to do and believe! Can you see the absurdity of it all? Obama save me! Following neglects the individual and the individual is so important.
