OLD, I know, but I felt like talking about it and I didn't want to do it with the retards on IMDB.
Anyways, as the finale of The Shield was approaching, everyone kept thinking back to The Sopranos. I think the general sentiment was "This series better not have a Sopranos ending".
Although I agree, I don't think The Sopranos ending deserves any of the flack it gets. People either wanted to see death or jail (the only real options for that type of story, frankly), and they were disappointed that they didn't get a definite answer to their rather boring question. If Tony died, that's that. Did they really need to see someone walk up and shoot him (again), and then some montage of his family coping with it or something? On the other hand, if Tony lives, then what type of closure could you possibly need? He simply goes on living his life in the same way that he had for the past several years.
People are goofy.
Thoughts on this finale? How about your favorite finales of all time, either the episodes as a whole, or just the conclusion of the show?
