OLD, I know, but I felt like talking about it and I didn't want to do it with the retards on IMDB.

Anyways, as the finale of The Shield was approaching, everyone kept thinking back to The Sopranos. I think the general sentiment was "This series better not have a Sopranos ending".

Although I agree, I don't think The Sopranos ending deserves any of the flack it gets. People either wanted to see death or jail (the only real options for that type of story, frankly), and they were disappointed that they didn't get a definite answer to their rather boring question. If Tony died, that's that. Did they really need to see someone walk up and shoot him (again), and then some montage of his family coping with it or something? On the other hand, if Tony lives, then what type of closure could you possibly need? He simply goes on living his life in the same way that he had for the past several years.

People are goofy.

Thoughts on this finale? How about your favorite finales of all time, either the episodes as a whole, or just the conclusion of the show?

I like how the ending can be viewed in a few different ways. When Tony's in hiding there's a flashback of Bobby saying how when you're killed everything goes to black (something like that) so you could see it that way and believe Tony got clipped, though I think the creator of the show might have said the flashback wasn't meant to be a clue to the ending. Personally I like the ending because it can also be viewed as an ending where you can keep thinking his life carries on, so even though the show's finished you keep thinking about what happens to Tony and the other characters.

That show has some corny moments. Like when Chris walked up to that lady directing the film casting and suggests that they replace the word 'cunt' with 'bukiack(sp)' or when he got into the rap business or something. I don't know, it's been years since i've seen it.

The only people that have a problem with the ending are people with no imagination who want every single answer handed to them on a plate. They really piss me off. I can just imagine them sitting there with a stupid confused look on their face as the screen goes black, followed by them asking "what the fuck"?

Haha, my thoughts exactly.

Some idiots even had the same reaction to the recent finale of The Shield. All of the major plotlines were tied up, the fates of all of the major characters were either determined or hinted at, but because the main character is still...I dunno, capable of doing things past the end of the show, some retards had a "What the fuck?" reaction.

does anyone feel like summarizing the last episode up for me?

hell while you are at it the entire last season. it was too difficult for me to keep up with the episodes not having HBO initially so most of my knowledge comes from random episodes coming on a&e.
