Yeah, they have something like that here in America too. Complete with fingerprints, dental records, DNA samples and photos. They advocate that it all goes to help the children in case they were to go missing, but I think there's more to it than that.

I was catalogued when I was a kid in school, along with mostly everyone else, as part of some missing child program. So incase Iw as ever abducted or something they could just fingerprint me to ID me.

They took height, weight, a mugshot, hair color, eye color, gender, and a fingerprint.

I still have the ID card they issued us, I should scan it and post it.

It was just a hypothetical situation (hence the 'for instance'). Are you absolutely sure about that, though, or are you just guessing? This seems like one of those hazy, undefined areas. I'd like to see some actual evidence one way or the other.

I was fingerprinted in 3rd grade, along with all of my classmates. They told us it was incase one of us became a missing child, and it was to help our parents find us.

You guys obviously don't understand how annoying fingerprinting is. For federal agencies, you have to get printed multiple times by trained printers until some fussy yuppy in a suit who somehow got a badge and a laptop decides your prints are good enough for their agency.

Then IDing a print... it can take weeks. That's with a limited number of prints in the database. Any idea how long it'd take, how much memory, paperwork, and bullshit in the current bureaucratic system of government if you were to add in countless children?

I don't like the idea of being monitored 24/7 either or big brother but when you have kids it's totally different. You want to know what the hell they're doing. They did exactly that in all the schools over here in the UK up until a few years ago.

Kids would be screaming and crying that they didn't want to do it, but they still got physically forced to.
And I'm talking about like, 8 or 9 year old kids here.
