Well I've heard that some early Christians believed that the God of the Old Testament was only a demi-god and that there were other Gods.

The basic principle is that Satan balances out God, the whole yin-yang thing. Lucifer and God are good to evil, beauty to ugliness, light to dark, ect...(to me this makes more sense than having a single almighty God, maybe the Chinese were on to something)

Also I've seen some weird videos with Wiccans accepting Jesus as their savior, it's strange.

Can anybody else enlighten me on this matter? Maybe provide some more information?

The first section of Genesis uses the word 'Elohim' which translates to Gods and Goddesses. After contemplating YHVH, I no longer see it as a deity in the traditional sense so I can't imagine Lucifer being the opposite of it. Not to mention that Lucifer is just a name for the planet Venus....

I can see Wiccans believing in Jesus as a significant prophet but I can't see one accepting Jesus as their savior, in the traditional sense, and still remain a wiccan.

I can expand on this more later when I have more time if you would like.

Yea that would be good, I was always interested in the hybridization of religions.

.

Yeah, sounds like some pretty wishy-washy Wiccans, especially since they aren't supposed to buy into the whole sin/guilt trip..

who came up with that?

alot of christian ideology came from paganism, christ himself (touchy subject, i know), halos, obelisks. i dont remember any more, but there are sources that give lists of them.

Since Pagan has been redefined over the years to include eastern religion, I suppose I am a Christian Pagan. I started studying Tao te Ching when I was 14 and still do today, but I also accept Christ as the pact between God and man. God will help us anytime we are willing to accept it, forgive us whenever we want peace, guide us whenever we want to walk with Him. On that note though, I've found nothing contradicting between the teachings of Christ and the apostles and the writings of Lao Tzu.

To be fair, Christianity was adopted and carefully crafted by the Romans with the expressed purpose of converting Pagans.

To the OP, the religion is simply doing what it was designed to do.

Happy Winter Solstice.

Really? I thought Christianity as we know it today is made up of a whole mix of shit, and certainly isn't what it was then.

No, it is today what it was then.

That is the end result of using the same unchanging unflinching source material in dogmatic fashion.
