I was wondering if anyone knew of any way to make homemade glue that would be safe to smoke.

Basically I'm out of real rolling papers, but I have some parchment paper that burns just as well. Unfortunately it doesn't stick to itself at all.

I was thinking perhaps cornstarch or sugar based glues, for which there are plenty of recipes online. Any comments?

Use dextrin, take some cornstarch and bake it in your oven at about 400 or so F until it turns golden brown. Its water soluble.

What do you think you smoke in regular cigs? Glue.

90% of retardation is the result of paraphernalialess stoners. Having been one of those I can tell you- use an apple.

The only advice I can offer is when scrounging for rolling papers, my best bet has been to find a bible with nice thin sheets, find a page without ink or at least not a shit-load of it, and then using a toothpick dip the pick in honey and then draw a line on one side of the paper near the edge. Make sure you don't glob it on the paper, make one consistent thin line down the edge of the paper.

Now put your weed in and roll it (avoid getting it stuck in the honey, if you can), and then roll it up and seal with the honey. The bible paper is a little harsh, but its not as bad as newspaper, printer paper, notebook paper, etc... and the honey tastes pretty nice, but it tends to make the joint canoe out.

Gelatin

Make a small amount of jelly with hot water & use that.

Or dissolve part of a Gelatin capsule in hot water & use that.

this made me double over laughing my ass off. I think its cause I saw several people suggest honey, like it had become an official idea as one of the things to use, and then I saw origamimavin's post about nobody suggesting honey, and it made me think, "ohh man that guy's gonna get some shit in the next couple replies lol" and then when I read this, the built up humor just shotgunned.

I'm tweaked out and overanalyzing the shit out of things if its not yet apparent.

I've used resin once and it worked pretty well, but I put it on there pretty generously, including near the user-end, and I found the taste of it on my lips annoying and a little gross. Maybe that's just me though.

Oh I forgot this idea. 'Its a prison trick'.

Get a envelope with water based sticky on the flap.
Hold the opened envelope as you would normally to lick the sticky bit.
Place the tissue paper under the flap but with 3mm of the top edge still showing.
Now carefully lick the sticky edge upwards towards & over the showing edge of the tissue paper.
Once you think you have shifted enough sticky from the envelope onto the tissue.
You now have a sticky edge on your tissue.

They use the brown paper toilet paper as tissue.

Maple syrup actually works. Me and my friends rolled a blunt with a leaf that had no sticky edge on Thanksgiving, so we just sealed it up with some syrup. It works perfect and has a nice flavor too. Try it out.

Since nearly ALL aluminium is coated in a thin layer of this stuff(naturally), it protect's the aluminium underneath from corrosion. I think they use it to hold boiling nitric and sulfuric acids, turbine blades, etc. Basically, if it could get hot enough to vaporize (thus exposing the aluminium beneath to vaporization/heat required to), wouldnt you think it wouldnt be cost effective for plane's, etc to fly? And Aluminium foil is so thin that it would take a fucking long time to heat it up with a standard lighter.

Use bible pages, a single ply of toilet paper, buy a pack of rolling papers for $1, etc

Then all you need is some water(saliva) to stick the paper together.

If you go over it with a lighter before you smoke anything out of it then it burns off the harmful chemicals so you can then smoke out of it harmlessly.
So do this and go ahead and make an aluminum pipe.

I've always wondered how one would drill out the stem hole in a pipe like that. If I had the mouthpiece already it wouldn't be so bad, but otherwise it'd be a bitch. I've made a couple pipes with a bent stem with some good aim using my drill, but shit man, a real sherlock would be tough.

And to the Al debate - you can smoke from Aluminum without any detrimental effects. Many pipes contain an Al alloy as well as most grinders are Al, the vaporization point is way too high. If you couldn´t smoke from Al then you surely couldn´t drink soda from it/use Al to wrap food on grills/use Al foil in the oven. Smoking from Al is A-Ok.

Most of the posts debating Aluminium are wrong.

I have spent years welding Aluminium & you get to breathe in the fumes untill the smell comes out in your sweat.
Your nose hairs turn white & you cough up a mix of flem & a white powder.

After all that welding I have a MRI scan of my head (Nothing to do with Aluminium) & they said "there was nothing wrong with my head".
(actually first they said, "We didn't find anything" which is not what they actually ment, we got that sorted out pretty fast...)

The oxide on aluminium is, guess what, Aluminium Oxide, or also 'Alumina'.

Its a very hard (used in grinding stones) clear crystal, its pretty damn inert too.
Its gonna do fuckall but sit there filling a space.
The oxide will form on the Ali as soon as it comes in contact with the air (Oxygen).
Get a peice of Ali & scrub it with a wire brush, it will abrade a bit of Ali oxide off & the brush will 'slip' over the Ali.
Now keep doing that, once you get down past the Oxide the brush will 'grab on' to the Aluminium, you have got past the oxide layer ( very hard oxide) & into the actual Ali metal (very softish metal).
Now look closely, there is a difference in colour between the two.

The Ali foil, welllllllllllllllll....
You probably didn't know this, some of it has a 'non stick' coating on it.
To find if the foil has, get a new peice & tear it VERY slowly from the side of the roll inwards.
If you do this right you will find a glossamer thin layer of plastic the dosn't tear, in between the sides of the tear.
Other Ali foil may have a tiny amount of grease or oil on it.
Ali foils made by rolling two layers of Ali between rollers, the inside of the foil (where it touches each other) is a different colour/texture from the layers that actually touch the rollers, hence the different shiney & matt surfaces on a sheet of Ali foil.

I think the cheaper foil is probably the thickest as they can't afford to have the foil rip, while they can afford to spend a little bit more on the Ali material.
Theres a big difference in thinkness between brands.

what some one told you to do is not factual. i have seen people do this before freebasing stuff off of foil. i would like to see a source with what harmful chemicals are on foil and what temps they burn off at. then i will believe you.
