Alright so basically I am just looking to get into some new movies, Kind of getting tired of the same old movies I always watch. Some movies I am into (in somewhat of an order based on which ones I like the most)-

departed, city of god, good fellas, kids, the sixth sense, crash, fight club, no country for old men, the original 3 star wars, both of the new batmans (and the old ones), bout it, lion king, blow, baby boy, interview with a vampire, the shining, let the right one in, six degrees of seperation, the wizard of oz, superbad, friday, scarface, the original blair witch project, beauty and the beast, waist deep, hustle and flow, the phantom of the opera (the play), the butterfly effect, walk the line, secret window, les miserables (the play), menace 2 society, eyecandy (or whatever its called with the chick from Juno meeting up with a pedo)

remember those are in order of what i like most to least but those are my favorite movies off the top of my head. thanks for any serious recommedations based on that.

some movies i am considering seeing, if you feel compelled to tell me not to waste my time or to definitly see it please say so-

twilight, the happening, spider man 3, forgetting sarah marshall, step brothers, 28 weeks later (i saw the original), hostage, the lady killers, mother of tears, nick and norahs infinite playlist, pineapple express.

oh yeah and while i've got this open i just watched Juno today. what a fucking horrible movie. the "teen lingo" through out the movie made it impossible to watch. i enjoyed the plot line and the girls attitude but damn why did the writers insist on making her talk like some stupid scene chick the entire time.

thanks for your time and thoughts..

The rest of the Martin Scorcese and M. Night movies you haven't seen, Chunking Express, Stanley Kubrick movies, and throw in Quentin Tarantino for good measure.

Wow, way to name every fucking genre of movie.

Start off with Better Off Dead, Empire Records, move on to Animal House and Heavyweights, throw some Joy Ride in there.

Go watch Brick.

I second this. Give it a shot. Early-ish 20th century Detective Pulp/Noir set in modern day high school. Gonna either dig it or hate it.

A few contributions to the thread....Things to do in Denver When Your Dead, Very Bad Things, Sleepers (just in case you haven't seen it, unlikely), The Town that Dreaded Sundown (older flick but still damn good) and The Immortals.

I also wanted to sugest a movie called The Plague Dogs. I haven't seen it myself but I've read the book it's based on and I've been trying to track the movie down. The book was great and you seem to like animated films so give it a shot.

If you've got some time to waste, may I suggest Deathproof? Would have been a better short film and the ending was sort of unfulfilling. It is still a pretty good Tarantino piece. Also, Apocalypse Now for an epic and mind-fucking experience. And, of course, The Warriors. I don't need to say anything about that one. Just watch it. You won't regret it.

Apocalypse Now: best film ever made, you must watch that.

The Football Factory: good film aboout football hooligans, east london accent, watered down lager, heavily cut drugs, casual sex...

Trainspotting: from the Irwine Welsh novel, a classic, late 1980's Scotland, lots of heroin, etc.

Romper Stomper: brutal film about a gang of violent skinheads in Melbourne, the fight scene between them and the vietnamese is probably one of the best fighting scenes ever made.

The Goodfellas: best mafia film, well made, from a real story, Joe Pesci is just a legend in here.

Jarhead: one of the only movies that's actually better than the book it's taken from.

I might post more in a bit.
