This thread is for the drummers/wannabee drummers.

What drums/cymbals do you prefer and why?

Personally, I am caught in limbo on the drums bit. I have an old set of Pearl Exports and they're okay. I am kind of leaning towards Sonar drums now. I also think DW makes some very nice kits, if you can afford them.

For cymbals, I am wholeheartedly a Paiste man. I don't think anyone in their right mind could deny the fact that Paiste is the superior cymbal company. That is, also, if you can afford them. Paiste Sigs ftw.

I want to check out some DW kits.

I'm trying to get Paiste hi hats. I've had these big thick ass ones for the LONGEST time and I'm sick of them. I was something much thiner... which would be fun for jazz and funk.

I've always been a fan of Zildjian cymbals, not totally sure why but I love the sounds they make.

At the moment I'm playing on a Premier kit, got a bit bored with my basic Pearl setup and decided to replace it.

I know what you mean about Paiste Drifter, I love my 2002 hi-hats!

I play a nice, beefy set of Tama Starclassics. They're rack-mounted, so they just fucking sing for me. It's great.

For heads, I use Yes. In that I use heads. Because I don't really care. But Black Ambassadors sound beautiful to me and I like nearly any Remo head I've played.

My cymbals are all Sabian. The sounds is exactly what I want, so I like it. I went into a cymbal room and hit a bunch of things and Sabians made the sound I wanted, so I own some AAXs now, which are just beautiful.

How much did you pay for your Starclassics?

Tama peaks my interest a bit as well.
